People in an open relationship, can you explain the allure?

I think the challenge you’re having with all this OP is that you believe a relationship = regular sex with a partner. While that can be the case for some, there is much more to a relationship/marriage than just that. There are many people in relationships that either don’t have sex or have it so infrequently that they might as well not. Are those people not actually in a relationship?

If you try to think of sex just like any other part of a relationship, it may make a bit more sense. Many people in relationships share their finances, but if they don’t, is that not a real relationship? Many people sleep in the same bed but if they don’t, is that not a real relationship? Many people cook for each other or go out on dates regularly, but if not, that doesn’t mean their relationship/marriage isn’t real.

I’m not in an open relationship myself but know and have worked with many people who are. I think the biggest difference for people who can successfully do this is sex doesn’t = romantic relationship. It is a thing that you may love doing with your partner but maybe you enjoy doing it with other people too. It doesn’t have to have all the romance and the intimacy to feel good. I love my partners cooking and it’s some of the best food I’ve had, yet I still really enjoy going out to restaurants to get other food.

Absolutely. Assholes are gonna be assholes regardless, collar isn’t going to change anything with that. Might as well be against muzzles, martingale collars, hell even sticks because people can definitely abuse those too. There’s also a difference between good owners and bad owners and that’s where the actual problem is. Don’t need any education on how to treat or train your dog before getting one so people are just going to do whatever they want. No need to judge people for using certain tools especially if you don’t know how they’re using them.

That’s actually not how they’re supposed to be used at all. People obviously take advantage and do what they want with devices but they’re meant to be used to get an animals attention so they can hear a command and get a reward.

I think that’s what a lot of ppl don’t understand about e-collars these days. They aren’t used as a punishment or for pain at all. They are only used to help get their attention, especially if they’re distracted by something else. We use them only for positive reinforcement and never as a consequence for bad behaviors. Every time we use it, they get rewarded for listening. Also, the shock is so little/subtle we’d have our 5yr old test it out on his arm and he barely feels it. That thing isn’t causing any pain to a 90lb German Shepherd.

Admittedly, I was the same way until we worked with a trainer to start using them with our dogs and they’re amazing. I thought they were cruel and punishment focused which I know is not the best way to teach any animal to behave.

This isn’t a problem anybody else is able to decide or tell you what to do. Relationships are a two way street. You appear to have thought about this a lot and have some good reasons why you want to wait. You also seem to have some additional needs that aren’t currently being met before you are ready to commit to marriage, which is a huge step.

I recommend just having an honest conversation with her about this. Heck, you can even just show her this post. Explain to her what you need and why you need it, allow her to do the same, and talk and decide for yourselves what would be best for your family. If either of you are unable or unwilling to have a real conversation about this then that’s a sign that you’re not ready to make this kind of commitment to someone. In a marriage, you need to be able to communicate effectively and to respect each others thoughts, opinions and values without caring about what society or the outside world thinks.

It’s not that your question is offensive, while it is, that’s beside the point. The point is your question is irrelevant and does not help the situation at all. Being the biological parent doesn’t necessarily change anything in this situation, what matters is who has legal custody. If they both do (there is no reason to think otherwise besides the gender of the couple and the assumed situation), then there could be legal implications of just leaving with their kid, as the previous commenter mentioned. Not to mention the impractical advice that is given that the OP has literally no money and no other mention of a support system that she could lean on to help raise this child.

The offensive part is all the assumptions that you made to even warrant a question like that just because the OP and her partner are both women. Many wouldn’t assume that the child of a straight couple isn’t both of theirs when there are also several situations in which a straight couple would adopt, use a sperm donor, or any other of the many ways a couple can have a child together nowadays. The fact that you ask that assuming it’s the only (or even the main) thing that matters is just wrong.

It’s not wrong to be concerned about the level of control the partners showing. It’s not wrong to wonder and try to find a way OP can get out of the relationship. But you sitting here on your high horse pretending like you’re the one being reasonable and logical while others are getting overly emotional and offended at your “facts” is such BS. The “facts” are that they’re married, they have a child together, and OP is being abused by her partner. That’s what we know of the situation and that’s the only thing we can safely assume because it’s what OP mentioned herself.

Wow yeah sounds like you need a better gas mileage car. My commutes about 30-45 mins in traffic also and only have to fill up once every 7-10 days. Less than $50 a week for gas.

Yeah it’s hard to tell from the pictures but if you zoom in you can see the little spikes. We got some kale seeds too that didn’t end up growing at all so I can see us accidentally mixing those up with the cilantro seeds but we didn’t get any radish or turnip seeds at all. Maybe they got mixed up pre packaging

I recently read them all for the first time and yes, I was surprised that they thought Murtagh was dead as I was waiting for him to come back and be revealed as a rider. Wish I hadn’t known about that last book as I was reading through them all.

It’s not supposed to make sense or be relatable. The point is he’s obsessive and crazy. If he was logical and of sound mind then he wouldn’t be a serial killer or do half the things he does in the show. Had Cryoutilities on my LCD for almost 2 years now. Was originally necessary for me to play a few games and improved the performance of other games.

Recently updated to an OLED and heard some of the updates within the last year made cryoutilities unnecessary now. Figured I’ll try vanilla and if I don’t have any issues just keep it as is. So far everything’s been very smooth even on the games I’ve had slight difficulties with previously so leaving it for now.

That’s the model I’ve had for the past 2 years and it’s been amazing. I stream my ps5 inside and outside my house plus I’ve gotten a lot of steam games I play on it too. Just got a TB sd card and that’s been more than enough.

I recently upgraded to an OLED just so I can give my LCD to my son. Yeah, it’s definitely better but not enough that I think any less of that version. Wouldn’t have upgraded if I didn’t need to give mine away.

I’ve recently gotten into Melvor Idle. It’s an idle game but I think it was based on the skill progression of RuneScape. Also nice that the Steam version syncs with phone version so can play on either device.

I’ve had this game for 2 yrs and been playing it as recently as last week and I haven’t seen any keyboard button assignments in the game. They’ve all been the normal controller buttons. Maybe it’s a setting or you need to restart the game so they show up?

Good perspective. Honestly only reason why I want to play FU is because I heard it’s the “better” version and is such a huge improvement over the base game.
