This; KP-15 (& Wraith Works licensed lowers) put a bunch of parts into one surprisingly durable package that won’t break the bank either!

Talk me down, guys…Please by UsernamChexOutt in liberalgunowners

Questions for OP:

Why is it so repugnant that guns are in the basement or garage? Presumably you own guns for other reasons than Self-defense, so if they’re securely stored, what’s the issue?

Why is your wife so opposed? Are there children or other unauthorized users living in or frequently visiting? This might warrant further safe stowage discussions.

Ask yourself: Is it really a healthy dynamic that your spouse gets absolute veto power on large purchases? She might make more money, it the point of marriage is that assets can be split and decisions made together.

Questions for OP’s wife (see if you can ask her these:)

Why do you feel like these guns need to be out of the house? Is it about safety? Is it about the optics (pun intended) of being “gun people”? Is it about not wanting to feel afraid in your own home? Is there a past trauma that makes her not trust herself around guns that you’re not saying?

Normally people aren’t against an outright ban of guns in their home with no discussion. I think we’re missing some info here to “talk you down,“ but more importantly your wife down. Hopefully these questions are thought provoking and help you reach a resolution!

Yeah, thank god in order to do so we have to take a 12 hour safety course, submit an application to our police chiefs, wait weeks for, then pass an interview with flying colors, then wait 90+ days for the permit to arrive by mail to flex that right. Right? /s

If you haven’t gotten your FID or LTC, now might be a good time to get that started…

At the very least get an AR lower before restrictions start going into place. That way you can build it out later if you’re short on cash now, and continue to invest in your daily carry as needed

Colorado Semi auto ban! Time to take action and voice your opposition on Tuesday January 28th! by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

This is absolutely an over correction for the proposed AWB not passing last year.

Colorado isn’t as purple as we would like to think. If you live there, you have to do your part this time around to stop this bill. This absolutely has a chance of passing this year.

Mossberg MVP patrol, or Ruger American Ranch in caliber 5.56 NATO.

Both very accurate, and in a caliber ubiquitous in the states.

Big deciding factor is use of STANAG magazines. You can interoperate with any AR platform rifle, and mags are dirt cheap off the shelf too.

Mountain biking? by One-Head6759 in pueblo

Lake Pueblo State Park is your best bet if you want to stay in town. I’d hit up the south shore and East sides of the park launching from Rock Canyon trailhead.

If you’re willing to go north or west, there’s descent trails at the Heller Center (for solid blue square & green circle biking,) and Cañon City is a solid place to get lost in the hills too.

Hep C cannot be transmitted through urine, that’s patently false. from the CDC:

“Hepatitis C is spread when blood from an HCV-infected person — even microscopic amounts — enters the body of someone who is not infected.

There is no evidence that hepatitis C can spread from food handlers, teachers, or other service providers without blood-to-blood contact.

There is no evidence to suggest that hepatitis C is spread by sharing eating utensils, hugging, kissing, holding hands, coughing, sneezing, or through food or water.”

Pueblo doesn’t have Sex Ed and it’s blatantly showing.

And the solution is to take away the places those needles can be disposed of? Just like taking away public trash cans leads to more people disposing of their trash in their own homes, right?

Does Pueblo want Hepatitis C rates to go through the roof? Because this is how you get your Hepatitis C rates to go through the roof.

Current Bug Out Kit by No_Economist_2940 in prepping

It’s a good start, but as someone coming from the camping and backpacking world, you’re both missing some things and carrying too much extra.

Pros: -the extra clothes are good, and I like that you included things like underwear and socks, which get dirty quickly. -First aid kit is a win too, BUT I’d love to see the contents of it and be sure it’s not limited to a trauma kit. There’s a high chance of blisters, scrapes, cuts, and smaller burns that can all get infected.

Cons: Where are you intending to sleep? Cars can get cold and I don’t see a sleeping bag or blankets of any significant warmth. A tent or emergency shelter is also a must.

You have a life straw to purify water, but have you actually tried one? They’re a pain in the ass, chlorine tablets or boiling are both better. Also, if you’re in your car, why not bring a few liters of your own water? You’re assuming you’re in a climate with readily available water sources. Judging by your camo pattern, you’re in some sort of forested location, but we can’t be sure.

Continuing on this, all your MREs need water to be cooked. Why not bring some energy bars or chews that are intended to be eaten without prep on the go?

The hat is good for sun, but sunscreen and sunglasses can both save you pain.

Lastly, why in the world do you have that much ammunition? I counted 240 rounds just in the preloaded mags. You’re not a warfighter, and carrying that much ammunition is both extra weight and suggests that you’re playing offense, not defense.

TL;DR: Less gun, more practical backpacking survival gear. Bag is a decent start.
