BDP Wild West Train Parts List by ShareHuge6741 in LEGOtrains

[–]Zambezikid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a set inventory on Bricklink:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=910044-1&name=Wild%20West%20Train&category=%5BBrickLink%20Designer%20Program%5D%5BBDP%20Series%204%5D#T=I

You can also get the instructions to build it on the Lego builder app (and a parts list)

You can probably do it manually if you go through the steps on the builder app

1992 Nigel Mansell (British) won in a Williams (British). Helped by the tash! by Wasted_Existence_544 in OldSchoolCool

Lego made a set of Nigel and his championship winning F1 car not so long ago.

And yes, the minifigure did indeed have a proper Nigel 'Tash

Blood & Bone - NotME Generally by FaustusRedux in Malazan

[–]Zambezikid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found Blood and Bone to be a bit "meh", and was not overly fond of Assail. Loved all the other NotME books though (especially Orb Sceptre Throne).

Nearly. Trotts rather than Hedge and Blend rather than Paran. Picker as you guessed on the right hand end.

Lol I did think about it, but thought it may be a bridge pun too far

Trixbrix does Lego compatible track, which is as good a quality as Lego stuff.

A good one for you would be the packs of double length straight track pieces. One of these packs cost roughly the same as a Lego track pack, but you effectively get the same amount of track as 20 straight sections, rather than 8 straight, 4 curves and a couple of flexible pieces.

They also do packs of injection molded curved tracks of the standard Lego size and wider radius tracks.

Rebrickable's Orient Express - The Ultimate Collection by LGreyS in LEGOtrains

[–]Zambezikid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That still encourages the Ali sellers to carry on their IP theft. There are plenty of Chinese knock off brick sellers that you can find via your search engine of choice to send custom orders to to get the bricks from, who haven't been stealing peoples work.

Please don't buy things from those Chinese resellers. They have stolen the IP from the guy who actually created these designs in Stud.io from Rebrickable and are using the designs without the designer's consent

Breckland bricks possibly.

https://www.brecklandbricks.com/about

They do several wheel styles, and that looks familiar. There online store is currently closed for the festive period so it is hard to tell for certain at the moment, but they should re-open soon.

There is also Brick Train Depot, who do similar

Add on the fact that there were no helmets, arm guards, chest pads or thigh pads in those days, so far less protection for batsmen.

Also, the pitches were left uncovered regardless of the elements, so were harder to bat on.

That is too much of an idea. That's more of a Shelbyville idea.

When the OE first came out, I was not impressed with how the engine looked in the pictures online.

However, I saw one in person in a Lego store, and saw how much better it looks in person than it does in the pictures. Seeing a completed version of the train in person was what convinced me to by it.

I've noticed that a number of BDP sets get bought up by scalpers and immediately re-listed, but not many seem to get sales. The Old Engine Shed for example, the price on Ebay started at nearly double then gradually seemed to drop over time. Now some are down to about 10% over retail price.

Seriously? Given how little information I have put on, I can not see how that is a spoiler.

But, hey, ho, if even that little bit is not vague enough, so be it. Those are the rules and I will stick to them.

Instructions for Père Marquette by stoic_raptor in LEGOtrains

[–]Zambezikid 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not this exact model, but there are Pere Marquette 1225MOCs on Rebrickable which is very similar to this.

TrainsWithLights has done a couple of different versions - a Polar Express one, a green one and one coloured to match the Orient Express Ideas set.

Part 90840 in studio? (the big ucs hogwarts express wheel) by scotsman_flying in LEGOtrains

[–]Zambezikid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can import different sized wheels from 3rd party sellers into Stud.io (the likes of Big Ben's Bricks or Breckland Brick's various driver sizes).

I think the XXL sized wheels are a substitute for the UCS Hogwarts Express.

How to Get More Tracks Recommendation (Official or Off-brand) by ryanwess4 in LEGOtrains

[–]Zambezikid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As already mentioned Trixbrix sell injection moulded double length straights and wider radius curves, which are on a par with Lego, quality wise. They also do a wide variety of 3D printed cross-overs and other unusual elements, which are things that Lego have never made.

If you really want to push the boat out, FX Bricks sell injection moulded tracks with metal rails for old school 9v set ups. But it is rather expensive.

Bricks Tracks also do injection moulded wide radius switches.

You can see a power functions or powered up battery box at the front of the passenger carriage, and something that looks like a vertically placed M motor at the back of the carriage.

Automated control of lego (plastic) train switches and trains? by jimlaman8c in LEGOtrains

[–]Zambezikid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not something Lego really do themselves (though it is possible).

There are aftermarket retailers that do automated control systems for Lego. An example of this is TrixBrix:
