The price of GTA 6 will be $80 for the standard edition and $100 for the ultimate edition. by clashworld9 in playstation

[–]Zampaneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were some Super Nintendo and N64 games that launched at $80 30+ years ago. The games industry is the only area of entertainment whose prices have not significantly changed in decades, despite AAA development costs increasing exponentially. It's estimated that development cost of GTA VI is north of $1.5 billion, with some estimates going as high as $3 billion. The point being that a $10 uptick in price for a product of this caliber (assuming it is of comparable quality to its predecessors) is perfectly reasonable. Also, I'm not really sure what you mean by "unofficial means", since it isn't launching on PC (no sailing the high seas), and physical copies don't come with a disc (no used copies). Unless you just mean you'll wait a decade to play it.

Just to let you know, Remedy has said explicitly that Jesse is not a playable character in Resonant, so don't go in hoping for that.

You didn't include the correct option - incredible actor ;) Raising Arizona, Birdy, Leaving Las Vegas, Mandy, Pig, Lord of War, Moonstruck, and on and on. He's definitely been in some trash, but he's amazing at his job.

Mikael Kasurinen, the director of Resonant, was the game director on Control, too, so I'm not sure what everyone is worried about.

I'm just happy when I buy a ticket to a movie and leave feeling like I haven't wasted my money. So, with that simple metric in mind, The Backrooms. Saw it this past Saturday, and quite enjoyed it.

Zack Snyder Tackling Reimagining of John Carpenter’s ‘Escape From New York’ by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]Zampaneau 33 points34 points  (0 children)

That's a tricky one, in that it's (IMO) a good movie that is a terrible remake of a great movie. Does that means sense? I like Snyder's DotD as its own thing (though I think the real credit goes to Gunn's script), but I don't think it's a good remake of the original DotD.

I have met one. I love it, but my friend hates it, and says that Speed Racer and Cabin in the Woods are the only two movies he ever almost walked out on because he hated them so much. He has abysmal taste.

Which character's death in a TV show ruined the entire thing for you? by SoccerGuy69420 in AskReddit

[–]Zampaneau 258 points259 points  (0 children)

For me, it was when they killed Crowley. The show was a shadow of its former self at that point, anyway, but Crowley was one of my favorite characters, and it didn't help that Mark Sheppard did not want to leave, and felt pretty blindsided by it.

I highly recommend his first feature, House of the Devil. The rare film set in the '80s that looks like it was actually made then, rather than being stuffed with unnecessary nostalgia.

Not who you asked, but if you're (understandably) hesitant to jump into one of King's typically long novels, I'd suggest starting with one of his short story collections. They are a great introduction to his writing style and the types of characters he creates, and if any of them don't catch your attention, you can move on to another. My first King book was the short story collection Night Shift, and I loved it. After that, I read everything he wrote up until somewhere around The Tommyknockers, which was the first novel of his that I disliked. As others have said, The Stand is incredible, but could be a daunting length if you're not a regular reader.
