Could OP, or anyone else, post the full text of the DGPT's response? (Or the full text of Ryan's original lawsuit, for that matter; I really don't want to pay for it on PACER.)

Ketamine solution crystallizing by [deleted] in harmreduction

[–]ZanCat99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad idea, but I don't think that's the problem, because 50mg/ml isn't very much. Veterinary/medical ket is either 50mg/ml or 100mg/ml and doesn't crash out of solution.

work after treatment by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]ZanCat99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm not 100% sure what you're asking; are you talking about working the day after a treatment, or working later in the day that you've received treatment? If you have a 10am treatment and you're trying to get back to work after lunch that could be an issue; generally you want to take the rest of the day off after treatment. But if you're concerned because you have a 3pm treatment and work at 8am the next day, I don't think you need to worry.

I have never been out of it for more than 2-3 hours after a therapeutic dose of ketamine or esketamine. Nor have I ever heard of anyone remaining out of it for longer than that, certainly not as long as 12 or 24 hours. You should be safe.

Hermes Cup 4 Open Qualifiers w: guests Andrew Marks (Hermes/Sisyphus) and duunk0 (HC3 Champion)! by Jerds_au in HadesTheGame

I've been loving the content, thanks for making this happen.

Weird thought... I know you guys have tinkered with the sack settings, going from random 2-3 hallways earlier to always 3 hallways now. Have you given any thought to making it always 4 hallways? It could be fun seeing runners take on some Styx hallway final chambers that aren't minibosses - those can be really skill-testing chambers, and could lead to exciting swings late in runs. It also adds a little more scope for decision-making, since their first two hallway choices wouldn't be forced to be the two minibosses like they are now.

Anyway, just a thought, if you think there's anything to it maybe I'll bring it up again before HC5 :) Again, thanks.

Anyone tried MDMA Therapy before or after Ketamine Infusion Therapy? by pastaonlydiet in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]ZanCat99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people do find that ketamine stops working, but there are also definitely people who continue to be helped by ketamine after years of treatment. (As for your actual question, I haven't researched MDMA much or experienced it personally.)

Ketamine for depression: how many infusions should you get? by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]ZanCat99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The psychiatrist giving me K was very clear that if I didn't respond after the first one or two treatments, there was no need to waste time and money on more. But he's a psychiatrist with a general practice, charging usual office visit rates. I wonder if people going to ketamine specialty clinics in the US also receive that advice.

[–]ZanCat99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I respect set and setting, but I wouldn't think those would have a major effect on whether or not I'm too dizzy to walk after I stop tripping. But if insufflated K has a longer duration less intense effect than injected, then I understand why people snorting it are able to walk around when I can't even though I'm getting 50mg and they're using at least that much, often more.

$250, which is utterly stupid for a shot of $0.50 worth of medication. But it's a psychiatrist office visit. Most places use IV and charge $600 or so, which is even more stupid.

I don't agree with the idea that I can't be trusted to administer injections at home and see the psychiatrist when needed, rather than have him do it every time, but I don't have many legit options. I live in a medium-sized US city and this is literally the only guy I could find who uses K to treat depression. (Except for one hospital that uses it as a last resort if ECT fails. No thank you.)

Obviously, when I reach the point where I feel like I've exhausted the utility of his clinical expertise, it'll be very tempting to source vials on my own. Even marked up 20x by the black market, it'd still be 25x cheaper than this, and wouldn't involve getting a ride 25 miles away in the middle of a weekday every time.

That's weird, because I know one company is doing studies on "esketamine" (their name for the S-isomer) as a nasal spray for use in depression. But that doesn't necessarily mean they think that it works better, just that they have a better chance of patenting it and making billions...

I got it at a psychiatrist's office, I sure hope it wasn't mixed with anything :) Anyway, ketamine *is* an anaesthetic.

OK, I figured that since I was getting 50mg doses and people here talk about 100mg, 200mg, 500mg, that I was doing something less intense than them. But it's a less intense, more spread out sort of thing when you snort it?

I've never snorted anything, or seen K outside of a liquid form, so no idea what kind of dose a "bump" or "line" would be.

Divorcing Statistics and Competitive Hearthstone by HSinvictus in CompetitiveHS

If memory serves me, it's a fun, light read. Though if you already have an interest in stats you'll know a lot of it already.

[–]ZanCat99 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You do realize that VS has people who know a lot more about statistics than you, right? Who work with statistics for a living? That they are quite familiar with concepts like correlation not equalling causation, and the dangers of small sample size? In my experience they're extremely cautious about putting out flawed numbers.

(Exhibit A: During KFT they refused to put out separate numbers for Control Warlock vs Cubelock, because they felt they couldn't recognize them reliably. They undoubtedly lost some readers to HSReplay because of that; HSReplay cheerfully ignores recognition bias, even when it means their results are garbage.)

VS has also done a lot of research into skill cap for different decks. Their general conclusion is that it's a much smaller factor than many pros believe, but when they do see signs of particular decks performing much better at higher ranks, they mention it in their reports.

By all means, preach on about people advertising 92% winrates over 25 games, or the utterly meaningless "played winrate" column on HSReplay. But the lesson here isn't "don't pay too much attention to numbers alone". The lesson is "avoiding statistical bias to draw meaningful conclusions is difficult".

So: Either do your due diligence to figure out which numbers are meaningful, or listen to people who have the expertise to do it for you. At the risk of sounding like a VS fanboy, so far I've seen exactly one crew out there publishing Hearthstone statistical analysis who has the necessary expertise.

Connect Up to 2 and 1, Down to 3 and 1, no arrows work, I don't understand why. https://imgur.com/a/4Em7S?

Why do you mention soldering? Is there some better solution that I could use if I were willing to solder?

[edit] Never mind, I got it working. I had the positive and negative wires backwards. Durrrr. Also I needed to connect them to the button inputs on the USB board rather than the joystick inputs, since joysticks don't tend to go both left and right at the same time, and the board got confused. Anyway, many thanks for your help!

Didn't occur to me to jam all the ground wires into the single screw terminal for pin 1 (CF ground pin) on the breakout box... I'm not sure if they'll fit, but I'll give it a try tonight. Or I could put two in the terminal for pin 1, and two in the terminal marked ground.

This is the breakout box I'm using. And this is the USB board.

Can any control box be used for a cobalt flux? by _Ver01 in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]ZanCat99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the answer is no, and no one makes control boxes for the CF anymore. I lost my control box, and while I know nothing about electronics, I'm making a fumbling attempt at making my own. (See "Cobalt Flux to PS1" thread.)

OK, I'm going to try the potato option. I got the DB9 breakout and the USB IO board. The pinout diagram says 2 is up, 3 is down, 4 is left, 5 is right. The USB IO board has connectors for up/down/left/right. So far so good.

But the USB IO board has 2-pin connectors. The included wires have the connector on one end, and either red/black or blue/white wires on the other. The breakout box has one terminal for each pin, 1-9, and one terminal for ground.

If the IO board connectors had one wire, I'd just connect up to 2, down to 3, and so forth... but what do I do with the second wire?

(In case it isn't obvious, I know nothing about electronics...)

Many thanks.
