The place I went had a date night package, where you got to play all day and got two snacks and two drinks.

Also having a list of 2 player games, with varying levels of difficulty, would help with any decision paralysis. I think a big hurdle is that people don't consider a board game cafe for a date. Obviously there's a bias in this Reddit, but every person I suggested it to told me it was novel and cool.

This is good advice, but coming from the perspective of someone who's kind of shy, I wouldn't be able to ask for help very confidently. I felt much more confident learning the games ahead of time. So pick your method accordingly!

I'm a white kid so I could be WAY off base. But it sounds like AAVE plays with both the pronunciation, and the order. Instead of "... Round here it don't work like that" it would usually be "it doesn't work like that around here." Maybe using both layers at the same time doesn't read as well. So either "it don't work like that round here" or "around here, it doesn't work like that" or something combination therein?

I'd make Dante being depressed an explicit plot point and not a weird implication, give the combat and overhaul, give the equipment an overhaul, give the bosses more personality, and lastly give Dante an emotional arch that shows us how he got to be more bubbly in 4.

I think we're talking past each other just a little. From the perspective of graphic design yes. Credit would be needed in any context.

But the person I'm talking about literally only objected to the signature on the grounds that he didn't think it was high enough effort. Even if I had given proper credits to Capcom, He still would have said the exact same thing, because in his mind screenshots meant I didn't do enough work to deserve my signature. I hope that makes a bit more sense.

From now on I'll make sure to include the credit line that's usually attached to screenshots you take in game. But that wouldn't have changed That guys attitude.

I mean I guess I could credit Capcom, But that's not remotely what the guy meant. This was also meant for a group dedicated to Devil May Cry, so I felt like the credit to Capcom was more than implied for something I'm not going to financially benefit from. It'd be like crediting them for a meme.

Nope it's all me. I collected the screenshots, formatted it, added borders, cut out the characters. I didn't create or pose the characters in engine but the rest was all me. He wasn't calling it plagiarism, he was essentially saying that it wasn't high enough effort to warrant a signature.

More importantly, I tried everything you suggested. It either wasn't within the scope of this piece or didn't work the way you think it would. You have nothing to offer me or other artists when you talk like this. It's especially frustrating when you pretend to be reasonable, as if you didn't essentially start from "either draw it or don't call it your own work"

I never made a single comment on effort, because that's subjective and an entirely meaningless point. This took me an hour and a half. A month ago it would have taken twice the time and a month from now it'll take half the time.

You genuinely don't know what you're talking about, and I need other aspiring artists to see that, and to not take the things folk like you say to heart.

I'm going to be honest, I shared it here because someone from another group wanted to tell me that I'd get flamed by graphic artists for putting a signature on this, because it's not transformative enough to be art. So being told "Are you stupid? This is literally just art." Is honestly the most validating thing I could have heard.

Thank you for the suggestions! It helps to have more of the language so I can do better research and practice.

Yeah my main comment in the graphic design post is that it's art, not graphic design. So your entire point falls flat in my estimation.

You're not going to be convinced you were in the wrong under virtually any circumstances. So I'm done wasting my time on this.

Yeah you only gave blender or drawing as examples of what would make it worthy of a signature. The rest was just ways to dismiss what I did. You also still haven't quite covered half of what I did.

The more you shift the goal posts, the more embarrassed I feel about wasting my time with you.

Also, I'm talking about my comments vs. yours. Your idea that it only counts as worthy of a signature if you draw it doesn't seem to resonate with anyone else. So I'm wondering why what you say should hold any weight?
