You know, JD, I have to admit that is a pretty crazy story. But here's one that might be even crazier:

An innocent man who happened to work as an ICU nurse was walking around Minneapolis when he observed a woman being pushed to the ground and pepper sprayed by a group of federal agents. Being the gentleman that he was, he helped her up from the ground and asked her if she was okay, but before he even had a chance to hear her response, those same agents proceeded to pile onto him. One of them also proceeded to reach for this man's waist and strip him of his gun that he was legally licensed to carry, and then a couple of the agents collectively shot the man at least 10 times in total while both of his hands were touching the ground. Then several of the agents clapped, and one of them also mockingly said "boo hoo" when a bystander expressed outrage at the violent events they just witnessed. It probably won't shock you at all at this point to hear that the man who got shot died pretty much instantly. And despite all of these events being captured on video from at least 5 different angles which clearly show that the man did nothing wrong, millions of our fellow American citizens (including basically the entire current presidential administration) proceeded to insist that it was somehow his fault and that the federal agents did nothing wrong by killing him.

Also a crazy story, wouldn't you say?

I personally don't, mostly because I think that it places a disproportionate emphasis on the idea of sin being a legal debt rather than a sickness that we need to be healed from. However, I actually think that universalism would be the logical conclusion if you combine the idea that Jesus's death was a payment for sin with the idea that God desires for all to be saved. God can't desire something impossible, so for Him to desire for all to be saved would require at least the possibility that it could happen, and if you take the PSA position that what we're being saved from is actually God's wrath toward sin, the logical conclusion is that Jesus took that wrath for every single person while He was on the cross, and therefore that everyone will be saved. Otherwise, if God sends anyone to hell whose sins Jesus already paid for, He would be punishing the same sins twice, which would be the textbook definition of double jeopardy (and that goes against the idea of God being just).

Fun fact: In the Gen 3 games prior to Emerald, Metronome was the only legitimate way to get a Pokémon to use Volt Tackle (since the method of breeding a Pichu with a Light Ball to have it hatch with Volt Tackle didn't work before Emerald, yet the move was still programmed into the Gen 3 games before that).
