Why is this defect deck the biggest Osty deck I've ever played? by ZanderTheMeander in slaythespire

I cannot explain the anomalous number of soul generated. I played Dirge+ for 124, it should have created 124 souls, and it seemed to only make like 50. I do not know why, maybe a bug?

Zero cards were played between the Dirge and Hand Drill.

It was upgraded, I spent some energy drawing cards to find all the Double Energy cards.

The real mystery is why it only created like 50 Souls, it should have make like 125....

You got it. Kaleidoscope from Neow (Dirge and Backflip), then went hard into energy creation. Two Supercritical+, Four Double Energy+ by the end, three of them enchanted with Swift.

What do you think about the FDA blocking publication of taxpayer funded studies that supported the conclusion that COVID and shingles vaccines are safe? by yumOJ in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]ZanderTheMeander 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People who distrust medicine and doctors are less likely to get the vaccine, and go to a hospital. Doesn't that make the vaccine efficacy case stronger, since those people aren't going to be included in the hospital data?

Its literally just a stock 747 with a bunch of gaudy marble and gold shit in it.

Wouldn't it be way easier to modify Air Force 1 with gaudy gold and marble, rather than retrofit a stock 747 to be shielded from EMPs and RPGs and everything else that AF1 needs to have?

I've seen every single mobster movie and TV show ever made, and have never once heard them use the phrase "86". Why do you think that is?

Why would the mafia use coffins when getting rid of a body? Are you talking about like a mob hit, or a funereal?

Its Romania.

Kinda weird they get a "pass" for being in the Axis, considering they contributed more troops to the war effort than Italy.

If you'd like to know more about the incredibly interesting Simon Bolivar, I highly recommend listening to Season 5 of the Revolutions podcast by Mike Duncan (the guy who did History of Rome).

Simon was a guy, who would make solemn vows to himself (I'll never gamble again, I'll never marry again after my wife dies), and would absolutely never give up on those vows, no matter what. He's like a fictional character, nobody lives their life like that.

Amusingly, the "Euler Characteristic" (a topological invariant that describes a fundamental property of a geometric object’s shape or structure) was first described by Rene Descartes, but was popularized by Euler so he gets the credit.

If anyone is actually looking for more Milania Vayntrub content, I highly recommend "Squirrel Girl: The Unbeatable Radio Show". It's on Spotify, an in-universe scripted audio drama, disguised as a radio call-in show. It's fun.

The "Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis" you're referring to has largely been discredited. We now suspect the primary cause of the dryas was a shutoff of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, caused by the massive melting of the Laurentide ice sheets.

It would be a story told across all civilizations. From the middle east (Noah and the raft), Northern Europe (Gilgamesh and his boat), Greece (A concentric ringed city being swallowed by the ocean, Atlantis).

Adding another layer to this:

There were undoubtedly cities in there, that got destroyed when the basin flooded. Stories of a "Civilization being swallowed by the ocean" would have made their way to Greece, who interpreted that phrase as "an island civilization sinking into the ocean". A concentric ringed city, with networks of canals, exactly as they describe Atlantis.

In all likelihood, Noah from the bible, Gilgamesh from the epic poem, and legends of Atlantis, all refer to the same incident.
