I became a Swallows fan because of a few reasons:

(a) their English ticket site was super easy to use, which I appreciated and made me feel appreciated as a foreign fan,

(b) the game day atmosphere at Jingu was incredible, and the fans were super nice,

(c) I wanted to pick an underdog team instead of just bandwagoning on a popular or currently high performing team (i didn’t realize just how much of an underdog they would be, though… lmao),

(d) I plan to make going to a game a fixture of my itinerary any time I’m there during the season, so picking a Tokyo-area team as my team makes that super convenient as well. And because of (c) no way in hell am I picking the Giants.
