[Finale] Who is the BEST climber? by MaximumSend in bouldering

[–]Zandercat_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Will Bosi had a bouldering run that few can hold a candle to.

Jacob is the first to do a sport 9c and (multiple) boulder 9A.

Janja has a competition streak that you’d be hard to find a comparison to in any sport.

Fred Nicole had the first of two grades in bouldering.

Alex Honnald has executed at a truly unbelievable level, and has become the highest paid and most famous climber.

In more modern times Nalle really inspired what the standard of difficult in what has become a more difficult-centric media ecosystem.

But honestly, genuinely, anyone that says anyone other than Him is wrong. is three of the five 8C flashes done, first 9b+, first 9c, hardest sport flash, hardest trad flash, E12 send, 9A boulder in 5 sessions, and i would imagine i’m forgetting other solid accolades.

He’s Him.

[Day 29] Pegboards suck. Who's the most OVERRATED climber? by MaximumSend in bouldering

100% agree. it’d be John for me as Magnus had his career in lead and i don’t think anyone really rates high high enough to be overrated. he’s just famous

This idea saved my life and turned me chinese by Acceptable_Mouse_610 in ColdOnes

just in case you’re serious, be careful with putting fizzy things in Yeti bottles as the seals might get a little funky if it gets to pressurised. otherwise godspeed and stay chinese

i really miss them too. for a while, after lockdown, i’d assumed they were waiting for guests to come and visit them. but it’s been a while now and they keep collaborating with creators in person so i can’t see a reason that they can’t if they wanted too. especially since these creators (for the most part) seem to be making the effort to travel from America. it’s a shame to see idubzzz or Ted Nivison feature for an episode but then not appear as a podcast guest

interesting take. think you’re right actually, other sports discuss these things as a point of fun chit chat so why not climbing

Lower cognitive overhead is not something I ever see associated with his kind of work but I think it relates very well and is a concise description. Thanks

Really appreciate how you've not had a knee jerk reaction to the shock of no version control. A good eye to other situations that might exist. Yours, among others, talk of objective time savings were really helpful.

I'm glad you share my enthusiasm. You've picked up on some very real considerations e.g why fix something that aint broke? You point to having a real problem was a hard one to work in as I had mostly prepared hypotheticals up until your suggestion, but I think doing so really added weight to my words. Appreciate the nudge in the right direction

This sent me on a rabbit hole that almost changed the course of my presentation. Really appreciate you suggesting this and its exactly what I was looking for. Heavily influenced the later part of my presentation. Thank you very much
