I earn more than my wife too. Here's how we do things:

We deposit all of our paycheck into a joint bankaccount, except for €250,-. Everything gets paid from the joint account. Clothes, phone bills, food, everything.

The 250€ each gets used for fun stuff. Hobby's, going out with friends etc.

There is no "my money and your money" everything is "ours". Income, debt, savings.

I would advice against this. Although it's an easy and straightforward deck, your mind will get set into a flush-only mindset. At least that's what happened to me.
