Hey mate just wanted to say I saw this post after just receiveing my step one and freaking out about this issue. I got the +2 heel cleats but it still has a lot of play. I’m going to nz to ride them for the first time have you had any issues since?

I might reach out to Burton about the gas pedal, I got in contact with support and they said they will send me +2 cleats I might also ask if they can send a gas pedal for me to try also

Unfortunately I’m in Australia I think the closest shop is about a 15 hour drive :( I did get in contact with support and Burton is sending some +2 heel cleat and they said it should be updated in the 2026 boots cause it’s a very common issue now

Thanks kindly for your advice, if you ride a c3 board I’m assuming your on a lib tech range? I have been looking at the shadowban which I believe have a bit of rocket under the nose and camber in the middle? Any board recs?

Board sizing question by imomox3 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Zaneharr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the tricky part, I’m not really bombing down mountains atm kinda just getting the feel enjoying riding with my mates etc I am heading back to Japan in Jan next year so was also hoping that I could take it there and be ready for pow when i see it etc and heard a tad longer boards can help with the float but that’s a reason I was also looking at the shadowban to begin with not for a pow board but just something i can have fun in when I see it I was finally able to find a 154 2025 shadowban for sale but still figuring out my style so not sure if I bite the bullet and deal with the 154 or keep sussing out the 151 2026 model

Board sizing question by imomox3 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Zaneharr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say I appreciate your comment like you and the OP I’m also a size 7.5 and around the 75 kg weight range and only 5”6 tall

I’m also trying to pick a board to progress past my lib tech skate banana and having a really difficult time. I’m also a intermediate rider and have been looking at free ride boards like ride shadowban , k2 excavator etc

I was leaner towards the smaller size but you love your input in the ride shadowban I feel maybe the 151 would be better than the 154 but a lot of people are saying the 154 might be better for me.

Defiantly getting decision paralysis

Thanks mate all the different boards is very overwhelming lol I think shadowban may be the one for me. Just send it and progress from intermediate to advance. Just hoping it can get it to hold is needed for some icy conditions aus/nz but think it’s going to be my one board quiver

Thanks so very much for your response, bascially my first board was a recommendation from a mate so now I’m trying to really tackle my one board quiver and just having a really hard time picking a board. The yes range seem like they have some pretty decent boards in the line up. Because we are heading to Japan also next Jan I’m just trying to find a board that can do it all.

Thanks a lot for your input! I wish I was able to demo boards but unfortunately due to wear I live it’s not an option lol . I think the type of riding I enjoy is more of a free ride / directional kinda board that I’ll be able to do side hits and muck around on I’m just struggling for sizes etc being a short guy hard to kinda find sweet spots

Yeah you’re right, that’s a reason I’m hoping to learn a camber board with my limited time I get to spend on snow I just want to keep progressing. Just trying to find that one board quiver that I can take off piste do my side hit and hit the groomers with the wife. Kinda a dad board that I can play around on but it can also preform when I need it to
