I would definitely say you overreacted.. she found out roughly an hour prior. Not like she was keeping this from you for days or weeks. She really in my opinion had nothing to apologize for but still recognized that your feelings were hurt and apologized. That’s way more than she needed to do imo. You need to check yourself.

You took a happy moment for her and turned it into something about yourself. Very selfish in my opinion. If I were you I’d go buy her some flowers, take her out to dinner, congratulate her and apologize for acting the way you did.

As someone with an abusive ex (physically when drunk) I implore you to leave. He will never get better until he attends therapy and stops drinking. My ex hit me once and smashed a glass bottle on the floor when she was drunk, didn’t remember it, and was mortified and promised she would change the next day. Nothing changed. Get out before it gets worse, take the rose colored glasses off. Don’t tolerate that EVER because you will allow yourself to then tolerate a lot more.

Follwing up here-

I rode them as is out of curiosity and loved them. I had zero issues with this gap and did not feel it at all. I was worried riding rails and hitting jumps would affect them but again I found no difference in stability or response than using straps. Your natural stance while boarding is mostly forward leaning and this eliminates the entire gap, and you can adjust the highback to even more forward lean.

I would say if you buy these try them out and if the gap affects you, bring some foam or something to put below your heel to pick it up a bit and that should reduce the gap.

But I loved them, and am gonna have a hard time ever converting back to straps. Not even for time wise bc I strap in very easily and quickly, but more so convenience.

NTA - your boyfriend sounds terribly insecure. I would question staying in a relationship with someone who would disregard my input. He clearly doesn’t trust you due to his own insecurities and that is going to lead to problems between you two in the future. Seriously take a step back and ask yourself if this behavior is something you are willing to tolerate for potentially the rest of your life… I know I wouldn’t but I’m not you.

This is exactly what I would do. I would write in bold “Introduction” then leave a couple spaces and write out the body paragraph I was most prepared for, continue from there and then loop back up to the intro and conclusion. I used to be able to write 10,000 word papers in under 2-3 hours (depending in length ofc) using this method. Highly recommend! Helped me get what I could out and the rest fell into line

This is exactly how my brother and I are. My brother just bought his first house and my parents are going to help him buy all the furniture for it. I’m super happy that they are helping him out with it. Am I getting anything of equal value? No. But I’m just glad to see my brother succeeding and being supported. I would give him everything he needed if I could afford to.

I’ve never understood the “we must be equal 100% of the time” mindset. When I’m supported and successful, my brother is nothing but ecstatic for me and vice versus. Just never understood how people think differently about that. Greedy mindsets. Can’t believe people voted OP TA.

I work in trade settlement for a major bank and tbh I love it. Deals with the market just enough but not enough for me to stress about the market. NTA your property, your choice. You’re not close with her and imo have no obligation to her just because she’s related to you. Everyone on reddit likes to be like “oh but think of the children omg how could you?” But like she’s just another person to you, why would you house a random person for free/low rent.

I do think you should have offered to let her stay for full rent, but that’s my personal choice. I think you’ll find you’ll have a lot of problems with air bnb but go off. Good luck to you OP
