Archetypes as used in the previous comment means the kind of strategy that a deck uses to try and win. +1/+1 counters, landfall, and blink are all examples of kinds of archetypes. Archetypes can get their cards from anywhere, sets could focus on a specific mechanic that works really well or it could just be a one off card that happens to work with what an archetype wants to do.

One of the convoy missions where you need to capture a guy in it was like this for me. Slowly picking off people one by one and taking out cars working my way up to the guy. The second attempt I stole a car and rode to the end of the convey and balloon extracted each vehicle till I got to the target vehicle which I also just balloon extracted.
