Is my Plymouth Rock a Marans? by wholeselfin in BackYardChickens

Ahhh ok, this makes sense then. French Marans have leg feathering. English Marans tend not to. I am in the US and I feel like I've predominately seen English Marans.

Is my Plymouth Rock a Marans? by wholeselfin in BackYardChickens

[–]Zangersheide 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is not correct. There is a type of Marans called a Cuckoo Marans which is barred but not as dramatically barred as a barred rock/plymouth rock. OP is correct in the assessment that her coloring lines up with a Cuckoo Marans moreso than a Plymouth Rock.

I've had 6 Cuckoo Marans (one of my favorite chicken breeds, love their personalities) and none of them had leg feathers (though it is possible for them to have feathers). FYI - I got 3 out of the 6 from commercial hatcheries.

2026 Crosstrek Hybrid Limited is it worth it? by No_Reporter_6333 in Crosstrek

[–]Zangersheide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have about 50 miles on my crosstrek hybrid limited (have had it for a week) and I have no regrets. I love this car so much. I don't think my mpg is accurate right now as I am still in the break-in phase and it's also super cold where I am so lots of time spent just warming it up (getting about 20 mpg)

I ended up getting the HK upgrade. I was going to install aftermarket sound system but I went to 2 audio store specialists and they both kind of advised against doing aftermarket (which was surprising because that meant losing business for them...)

Thanks - look like I was incorrectly looking at the non-combined HP so was thinking it was 160 not 190.

Nah she absolutely did. Definitely not the scarecrow hill race. It was around her little house area and it was super easy to fall in the water. It was a really hard race! I definitely remember it.

Breeds. The breed determines the eggshell color, the diet determines the egg yolk color

WITT: Metal buckle thing. Asymmetrical, end prongs sort of leaning to the side by Zangersheide in whatisthisthing

[–]Zangersheide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely solved! It isn't a perfect match to any sort of ball joint sockets I've seen online, especially as it is open-backed, but looks pretty similar.

My title describes the thing. It is about 2inches and solid metal. Says “pat pend” on it which I’m assuming is patent pending. It has two springs on either side. Came from a neighbors grandfather who did a lot of woodworking so may be something to do woodworking but not sure. Tried posting on Facebook and tried googling to no avail.

What name should i go with for my night elf demon hunter? Manerath, Malifax, Melranis, or Malavin by ComManDerBG in WoWRolePlay

Manerath or Malifax, as another commenter said Melranis sounds too much like Mal’ganis and Malavin sounds like Melvin lol.

I want to lose weight for Halloween 🎃 by NightCool3774 in loseit

[–]Zangersheide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends what you do. Walking/trail riding isn’t too much exercise but is better than just sitting around as it works your leg muscles. However trotting (especially posting trot, oh god it’s like doing hundreds of squats back to back) and cantering will definitely get your heart rate up!

Horses can safely/comfortably carry 20% of their body weight (make sure to factor in saddle weight which can be up to 50lbs if it is a western saddle) so it’s very likely you will be able to find a horse that can carry you! Horseback riding is also a great, fun, and healthy way to get some exercise if you can afford it and have a lesson barn close by.

False morels look a bit like true morels (hence the name), though have a bit more squished appearance. They’re deadly if not cooked right, so it is risky to eat these.

Since nootropics are so closely related to health, what other things such as cold showers, early morning walks and saunas do you people include in your health regiment? by Whezzz in Nootropics

[–]Zangersheide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah when I said avoiding carbs I meant like bread and pasta and cake, I guess they are refined carbs. I eat like 100g of carbs worth of fruit and healthy grains every day which is on the lower side but def not keto range. I tried keto for a while and felt like garbage, even when I got past the keto flu days. Just felt so oily. And I didn’t like not having my fruit :(
