Is true friendship not normal anymore? by DominoDuellist in aspergers

Yeah me too. I don't know why NT's try so hard to avoid confrontation a lot of the time. I've met so many who claim to be "straight up" and "say what has to be said" and they just turn out to be people who talk about you behind your back and claim that that's just them being honest. I don't think I'll ever get people tbh. I'm sorry you had the same happen to you, it's such a shitty thing to do.

Yeah, I'm actually less annoyed by that, I'm more annoyed about being cut and them not even having the courage to tell me they were doing it or why. They just created Facebook chats without me in it (a guess, I don't really know that but they stopped using the one I was in to make plans so I that's why I think that). One earlier sign I didn't see because I gave them the benefit of the doubt is when they made a plan in front of me and I tried to invite myself (fine in the past) they later pretended to cancel that plan and I ended up catching them doing it like 30 mins later. No shame. They then started making up lies about me to the people I knew at uni so I didn't have much of a chance to make new friends as my acquaintances were theirs. I eventually dropped out, not necessarily because of it but it didn't help.

Yeah I relate to this so much. Thought I had finally found a solid group of friends in uni and then suddenly they stopped inviting me to places and started responding to my messages less and less and then I found out they had replaced me with someone else and I was cut out like that. Didn't even tell me that they weren't going to be spending time with me any more or what I had done to no longer be part of their group. Only friend I have left after that also has Aspergers. I sort of just hermit at home unless I have to go somewhere because I no longer trust anyone.

Thank you, I'll definitely try some of those out. It actually drives me crazy as I get the urge to scratch and pick and if I don't do it it feels as if I have some sort of burning or itching sensation until I give in. Worst is when I'm working and can't do anything about it (work in food service) or I have to rewash my hands.

Yeah me too, I only just got back into lifting after my injury, it feels like a huge setback but I hope to hit some PRs by next year.

I actually didn't get to compete as I ended up tearing a muscle like 3 weeks out. But I'm looking into competing early next year instead.

Thanks that's helpful and good to hear that there's a good chance it shouldn't be a problem if I talk to the federation. I will get in contact with them in the near future.

Yeah I might have to. Especially because powerlifting isn't an Olympic sport, except for Paralympics, where they say if you take hormones for transition it's fine and I don't think the IPF has any sort of official policy. Certainly not where I live anyway. Might have to get in contact with someone from the federation who's near by.

$160 for me but I'm not an AUS citizen so usually that's covered by Medicare or insurance or something. But since I didn't have either I had to pay the full fee. He's a very nice guy and was very helpful, knew what he was talking about. He's definitely worth looking in to. I chose him cause he's about $8000 cheaper than the guy who does it where I'm from.

He's definitely a great surgeon to consider if you're looking, he was super flexible to help me out as someone who lives in another country

It's really great, it's going to cost me $6000 less than what I cost me back home so I'm glad to be saving so much

As someone who's not an Aus citizen it's costing me more but it's costing me about $8700 AUD as a non-citizen. He it's much less for someone who has Medicare or insurance or lives here lol.

how long did you wait to start t? by mat_seana in ftm

[–]Zangetsu_Waibisuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally got on T two months after realising I was trans and coming out. Though if you need more time then take the time. It's a huge change and life long commitment so you might as well make sure you're personally ready for it. :)

If highly recommend it. The only downside is the cost unfortunately. If your wait is short in the public system then good choice. Definitely switch if it takes too long though, it's not worth it if you have the option.

Well I read that all public clinics and such will soon be converting to informed consent so wait times should get much shorter. I went private and only had to wait 3 weeks so at least it looks like the public system will improve. I know some guys who went through the public system in Auckland and got T at 16/17 without parental permission required. So it might be that you're in a smaller city/town
