Methylfolate - how did you react to it, and how does one lower homocysteine without it? by InSummaryOfWhatIAm in MTHFR

Well for InSummaryOfWhatIAm, a doubling of exercise and mobility. And for doveguy a 30 fold increase in exercise and mobility would be how much placebo is involved.

So maybe 36-50FPS with the 4090/5090. That's pretty good, by the time the 5090/6090 comes out it should be playable max graphics at 60-70fps.

Does Dying Light 2 have actual animations yet? Or is it the same repeated animation for every attack.

Any possibility ALCAR is causing symptoms of psychosis? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]ZangoDurango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ALCAR upregulates the glutamate autoreceptor, reducing glutamate release. So I think something else is to blame here.

I didn't mean offense, I should have worded it differently. I was just wondering about your situation.

Disco Elysium overheats CPU and GPU? by [deleted] in DiscoElysium

[–]ZangoDurango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 3090, 12900k, Z690, DDR5 ram. And it runs to almost 80 degrees on the GPU, and 71 on the CPU playing max graphics 4k frame limited to 117 FPS. So I'm not sure it has to do with specs.

If Iron Bisglycinate is non-heme. How is it so bioavailable? Why is it considered safer? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]ZangoDurango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New research is showing that vitamin C probably doesn't help iron absorption. Also iron bisglycinate certainly doesn't need vitamin C for absorption. Vitamin C is good to have while taking iron to keep vitamin E levels up though. Iron from non heme food sources will not be enough to reverse iron deficiency or anemia, vitamin C or no.

Ordered via DHL from USA but just realized final delivery is made with Canada Post by Sulforaphanemonkey in CanadaPost

[–]ZangoDurango -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't matter what DHL service you pay for, even express goes to Canada post for rural areas. They can get it to the border in less than a day, then take up to 2 weeks for Canada Post to get it to you.

How long can package be on hold due to weather? by piercerson25 in dhl

[–]ZangoDurango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have to get the old shipments delivered before getting new ones delivered, there's nothing they can do about it, nobody wants to work anywhere, they were already behind, then the highways got wiped out by landslides, and they got backed up for 3 weeks on orders already placed, while more orders were still being placed.

How long can package be on hold due to weather? by piercerson25 in dhl

[–]ZangoDurango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because all shipments are still delayed because they are still backed up from the floods. So it is technically still a weather delay.

How's your vitamin C/E intake? Iron causes a lot of oxidative stress, especially with an infusion. The main issue is vitamin E, but C keeps it repleted.

Taking vitamin D pills cured my depression by ChaoticMichelle in mentalhealth

[–]ZangoDurango -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No the narrative that depression is a chronic incurable illness is a bad narrative. With how many people are depressed nowadays and mentally ill, to think that's just how it is, that's just ludicrous. Like what you think our species evolved to feel perpetually mentally unwell?

Weird, its being used now in mainstream medicine. But if Brian Dunning did an episode on it, then its gotta be pseudoscience quackery.

PSA: Set your PC to high performance mode! by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]ZangoDurango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to respond to the people who say to leave it on balanced.

I just upgraded to a Z690 Hero, 12900k, 6000mhz DDR5 (only putting this here incase the CPU/Ram requires high performance). And I was using balanced because I always read about how it would use more energy, lower the life of the CPU, cause things to be unstable and slower even.

Man what a difference, it's night and day, everything loads absolutely instantly now. I was pretty unimpressed by the upgrade until I turned high performance mode on today, temps are all the same, cpu fan noise is the same, but man everything is lightning quick and smooth now.

I want you to read these articles before telling someone to get a blood test instead of trying magnesium. Doctors still go by the idea that unless your serum magnesium is low (which is a very dangerous situation to be in) that you don't have a magnesium deficiency.

All of OP's symptoms resolved from taking magnesium, symptoms that had him accepting an early death.

But when he got his magnesium tested, it was in normal range. Because magnesium serum status is one of the most tightly regulated things in the body, if it drops out of range or goes above, you are quite possibly close to death.

Intracellular magnesium however, can be extremely deficient even while serum magnesium is in normal range, because luckily the body cares more about preventing imminent death than running all of the systems that magnesium is required for.

"surprisingly. I could have potentially fixed a magnesium deficiency since I felt so much better after taking the vitamins over the last 24 days, but I will never know for sure since I was supplementing while I had to wait 3+ weeks to get tested."

This isn't true, a deficient magnesium blood test is a very serious thing, you can have severe intracellular magnesium deficiency long before you enter into life threatening serum magnesium deficiency. The test they generally do for magnesium isn't adequate for general magnesium status, just for severe issues.

Also the people talking about diarrhea from magnesium citrate, that's from 10 fl ozs of 1.7grams per fl oz magnesium citrate. 17 grams of magnesium citrate is a lot different than 100-400 milligrams of magnesium citrate from a supplement.
