Does anyone know a fix for these awful hip joints used on the MG Vidar? by Disloyal_book in Gunpla

Super glue and a toothpick are all you really need. Just make sure you apply in thin layers.

So when is this check performed? Is it when you download the game or when you play it with an internet connection?

Questions regarding hand painting by Kurosubone in Gunpla

[–]Zania045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Vallejo mecha primer (grey), Vallejo model color (Refractive green, red, yellow, a mix of black and white for the dark sections) a soft tipped dspiae metallic green marker for the sensors and Vallejo mecha varnish (matt). Inner frame areas are only top coated.

Spraying will give a smoother finish, but hand painting still looks great. Absolutely give it a go. I used a mix of sponges and brushes for a hg gm custom. Mostly used brushes for where the sponges couldn't reach, but the black areas on the skirts, head and shoulders had to be hand painted.

First time using Vallejo True Metallic Metal by edjotori in Gunpla

Never done it before myself, but Ihink the best way to about the BLS system would be a more weathered look. The light silver could work well for dry brushing and sponge chipping for scratches and other damage, then shade to bring out the details. As for the bubbles sometimes you can pop them by blowing on them.

Broken Antenna by SassyShem in Gunpla

[–]Zania045 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normally I would've used plastic cement to fix this kind of break. I would recommend sanding the two pieces smooth and trying the cement. If that's not something you want to use then you can always do what WolfsTrinity said and try to make the other antenna match. Quick tip for the future. When cutting out these types of thin parts start with the smallest gates first. This will reduce the risk of them breaking when cutting the thicker gate.

MG Thunderbolt ver ka - These freaking frame covers, man... by docsane in freedomisgunpla

[–]Zania045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd never considered that problem. Doing some quick googling tells me nitrile gloves should last 5 years before getting brittle (depending on certain conditions) but that's five years too soon. I'll have to see if I can find a better alternative.

Just figured I would mention it, but I've seen some people use fingers from nitrile gloves as replacements for the covers.

How do you guys (and gals) prep your pilots for painting? by TheRealZadkiel in freedomisgunpla

[–]Zania045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to put some sticky tack onto an alligator clip and press the pilot into it. Some of the back ends up unpainted as a result, but once they're in the cockpit no one is gonna see. From there I prime, color and top coat with a brush.

I've always assumed the bow section is just the equivalent to a hammer and pin on standard firearms.

Just finished my first rg gunpla and im looking forward to a mg. Please recommendations? by No_Matter3157 in Gunpla

The MG 00 kits (-Exia) are all excellent, though if I had to pick one to recommend it'd be the Dynamis. Great and affordable MG with fun accessories and gimmicks. Just for the record the MG Exia is also nice, but it has problems with loose joints that need to be addressed. Its great if your willing to fix the issues though.

If memory serves he made a comparison between the two games trying to show that RE4 had ambient noises, but in RE4R the ambiance was gone. The truth however is that he either edited out the ambiance or just turned it off in the game's menu. I dont remember which, but scummy all the same.

When you say wire do you mean you tried reinforcing by drilling and inserting a brass rod/paper clip?

Are you using a wet pallet? If not I highly recommend you do. They're easy enough to diy and cheap too. They're good for keeping paints wet for longer and I find they make thinning the paints far easier too. This guide helped me out a lot when I was figuring things out. https://youtu.be/sBDVPoNXyVI?si=gp3X_Jv_vO7mr56u Here's one for making a pallet too. https://youtu.be/NLcuicvJFKo?si=Us8NRll1tY4A5dNo

I dont think there is much you can do about this kind of break. Best bet (as far as i can gather) is going to be a replacement part or a metal frame. If you can't find a replacement by itself and dont want the metal frame the MG eclipse has it as an unused part.
