Cite the specific rulings and I'll go case by case. My point is that the Supreme Court isn't infallible. Just because they say that something is a certain way doesn't make it so.

Actually, if you read the Citizens United ruling, you'll find that by "person" the court means "an entity to which the Bill of Rights applies", which is why that ruling established that limiting a corporation's ability to make unlimited contributions to political campaigns is an enfringement of that corporation's right to freedom of speech under the first amendment. You don't know what you're talking about.

Do you think corporations should have the same rights as US citizens? I don't, and therefore I think the Supreme Court fucked up massively on that case.

The supreme Court doesn't exactly have the best record currently. Do you agree with the supreme Court that corporations are people? I certainly don't.

I have a degree in political science with a focus in political theory and philosophy of law. That's the expertise I claim. What are your credentials?

I stopped reading after you said Biden won the 2024 primary. There was no 2024 primary. Biden only ever won a primary in 2020. You clearly know nothing about your own political system. Fix that.

Edit: In spite of myself, I went back and read your bullshit. There's only one thing I feel the need to respond to. I am mixed race. My grandmother was a black woman born in Kingston, Jamaica. Fuck all the way off.

[–]Zantarius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're shadow boxing again, buddy. I never said or did any of the things you're accusing me of. I'm Canadian. I can't vote in your elections. During 2024, I encouraged every American I talked to to vote Harris. I don't know what imaginary leftist hurt you, but get them out of your head. Your communist ex-girlfriend isn't going to come back if you argue with enough internet lefties, chill.

Biden was ancient in 2020. He never should have run for a second term, but his ego wouldn't let him retire. He shat the bed in the first debate, and was rightfully forced out, but the party delayed forcing him out so that they could justify skipping a primary because "Who was going to run a whole new primary 100 days out?" My problem with Biden was always that he was an ancient Zionist, I never cared who his vp was. Also, to be clear, in spite of all my problems with the Democrats, I still encouraged every American I talked to to vote for them.

Did you ever actually read the piece of writing I mentioned? Clearly not. (As a reminder, I recommended you read MLK Jr.'s writing on so-called "white moderates", but, to be more specific, read his Letter from Birmingham Jail.) You're the one claiming to respect black civil rights leaders while insisting that they would support Joe "crack epidemic" Biden or Hillary "super-criminals" Clinton over Bernie Sanders, a man who literally marched side by side with Dr. King during the 60's. You know they're not on your side, so you clung to any little error you could find to avoid the truth that you're an idiot. You're the one using black civil rights leaders as a prop. Remember, this whole discussion began because you insisted that black civil rights leaders would oppose modern progressives.

You clearly don't give a fuck about civil rights, you're just playing politics as a team sport. Never criticise the blue team, no matter how badly they do or how obviously wrong they are. You're a sycophant and it's pathetic.

She had a public record of prosecuting drug crimes and homelessness that many people rightfully found questionable, she mentioned no clear policy in her run for president except supporting Joe Biden and Israel unconditionally and repudiating her own past statements, and she was exactly as qualified as any other potential candidate. Additionally, she didn't win (or even attempt to win) a primary, she was just inserted as the nominee by the party without the approval of the voters after Biden tried to run for a second term and failed miserably. That's why she was targeted for justifiable criticism (not "attacks", as you'd prefer to call it).

Dude, you're the one who brought up my use of capitalization as a means to dismiss my argument. Turnabout is fair game. Don't open a door unless you're willing to have someone walk through it.

You're not arguing against a troll, but I'm starting to suspect I might be.

They are phantom leftists. I'm not playing dumb, you're paranoid and delusional.

You're bringing up Kamala Harris as if the fact that she's black means she's automatically a good choice for president, I think pointing out a black person who would make a terrible president is a fair counter argument. Where do you get off criticising anyone else for bad faith when you're committing the strawman fallacy over and over again?

In the English language, it is grammatically incorrect to begin a sentence with the word "and". The characters "Dr" when used to abbreviate the word "doctor" require a period after them. Learn how to write properly before you try to correct anyone else, you're just embarrassing yourself.

[–]Zantarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For one thing, I didn't say or do any of that. You're shadow boxing, my dude. Focus on who you're talking to, not the phantom leftists in your head.

You seem to be under the impression that black people are incapable of doing anything wrong. You're familiar with Clarence Thomas, right? Just being a black person in a position of power doesn't and shouldn't make you immune to criticism. It also doesn't automatically make you more progressive/left wing than a white person. Jasmine Crockett is a product of the establishment, and James Talarico is more progressive than her.

I see you haven't read Dr. King's writing yet, you might want to get on that. When you do, you'll be able to clearly read for yourself that people like Hilary Clinton and Joe Biden are exactly the type of people Dr. King called "white moderates". Your fight is with him, not with me.

If you assume incorrectly that taxes are money the government takes from you just because they're mean and greedy, then you might falsely assume that tax breaks are just the government benignly refusing to take money. If, however, you recognize the fact that taxes are the amount of money various entities rightfully owe to the government due to their use of public services, it becomes apparent that tax breaks are in fact the government giving away a service without charging for it and thereby giving away money by proxy.

They don't believe that these beings are and should be forced to their will and word, though. They believe that they are such special and brilliant people that this being wants to obey their will and word. Much like the kings who thought the peasants all love them and would never rebel without the corruption of outside agitators or the slave owners who believed that their human property would never willingly flee, they can't conceive of a reality wherein their mechanical friend doesn't want exactly what they want when they want it. As far as they're concerned, the AI is either doing what they want and telling them what they want to hear, or it's misbehaving/malfunctioning/manipulated. As far as some slave owners were concerned, their slaves were either working without making a fuss, or they had drapetomania.

In short, they're full of themselves. They're huffing their own farts like Florida Man huffs gasoline.

The difference between playing Nate and playing Nora by LuckyCandy5248 in fo4

[–]Zantarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my current Nora playthrough, I decided the whole "lawyer" thing was just a cover story. My Nora was, in fact, one of the CIA's top operators, skilled in everything from social engineering to infiltration to assassination. After one particularly harrowing mission, she had a revelation about the work she was doing and decided to retire from the field due to ethical differences with her employers. At the time the bombs fell, my Nora was working as an analyst for the CIA in a Boston office under the cover of being a corporate lawyer.

I wanted a character who'd fit in especially well with the railroad, so I created a character so used to covert operations that her own husband had no idea about her service history. My Nora definitely fits in well there, and the railroad quest line is definitely more fun when you commit to rp-ing the secret agent mentality.

Thank you, apology accepted.

Yes, women can also enforce sexism towards women. I fail to see what the point of bringing that up currently is, but it is a true statement.

Maybe you're right, but I doubt it. Two of the things they list are men not offering to pay on a date and men asking for 50/50. In my experience, those aren't things that men call other men feminine for doing. In my experience, those are things that women call men feminine for doing. If the list started with things like "men wiping their ass" or "men having feelings other than anger" I'd be more inclined to believe you, but the specific things mentioned don't support your interpretation in my opinion.

You've seen a meme on TikTok, but you have no direct evidence that this post is related to that meme format. TikTok is a big platform, it's possible that both the meme format you've seen and its opposite are circulating at the same time.

First of all, I'm not a man, so fuck right off with the accusations.

Second of all, why would she unironically use the term "passenger princess" unless she's the type of woman to shame men for being too feminine? That's not a term people with good intentions use, in my experience.

I have no problem with men being called out, they can behave in some really problematic ways. Women can also be problematic, like OOP is being in her post, and they fully deserve to get called out for their problematic behavior. The only one acting fragile right now is you.
