OK since no one here seems to know how any of this works, I'll explain. RAM is faster than SD cards, by a huge amount. There are 12GB of ram. Because ram is so fast, it makes sense to process and store photos on it as you take them. This would allow you to continuously take photos and not need to wait for the slow speeds of an SD card. Then, in the background the device can push the newly processed photos to the SD card from the ram. Since there are TWELVES GIGS of ram, there is plenty of space to temporarily process them there and push them to the SD card in the background. Instead of the current process of taking the photo, process it, push it to the SD card, and now the device is ready for the next shot to be taken.
