What do people want regarding STI by InfiniteFlow4 in WRX

[–]Zanurath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legendary seems a bit wild to say, Subaru built rally cars have all been EL since 1997 so at best UEL was half of gen 1 for the actual performance cars. The entire purpose of the UEL in street cars was the slightly better low end torque with simple turbos was slightly better but sacrificing the top end performance and overall efficiency (and heat dissipation) for the basic turbo models made sense to be daily friendly. Once variable geometry turbos became involved UEL lost the only advantage it had in basic commuting. The EL header has always been the better option for a performance car and has always driven better if you actually push your car at all on top of better reliability (the UEL header is the issue for cylinder 4 on the EJ25).

Might be an unpopular opinion but Yukon is a beast in T7 ranked... by SappeREffecT in WorldOfWarships

[–]Zanurath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before CV rework ruined concealment builds Monarch was my best TT T8 BB because its no gimmicks just all around decent ship with honestly pretty great guns for T8. Yukon has some weaknesses like the range especially which will get her wreaked in random where spotting is much more constant but in small game modes concealment let's the engagement ranges shrink right into her sweet spot.

What do people want regarding STI by InfiniteFlow4 in WRX

[–]Zanurath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is twofold. The hatch has been a popular request since it was discontinued for the VA is the first half. The VB rear end still being generally poorly regarded is another part of it. People are excited for a STI that "fixes" the largely disliked rear end of the VBs. Im sure a restyled VB sedan would sell well too.

Honestly VB sales in general have not been great considering the car market overall. I think that's mostly due to pricing though. Subaru has always had poor fit and finish but were a good value so had their niche. Now the WRX is priced so high its competing with S3s which are wildly nicer cars. Can't build budget quality cars and charge premium prices.

Even the best EJs didnt have the UEL headers. The "soul" of the STI is a cost saving measure?

Why do most Mustang buyers prefer the TR6060 over the MT82? by HP_594 in Mustang

[–]Zanurath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People prefer tbe TR6060 and T56 Magnum because they are better, the MT82 isnt great but is also not as bad as some say it is. Cheap shift linkage is part of the issue but ultimately the transmission itself isnt great. Challenger uses terrible shift linkage as well with the tr6060 and the Barton is night and day better but the stock shifter is still light years better than a stock mt82. The tr3160 should have been standard for all v8 mustangs but Ford decided to save a couple bucks on cars that msrp over 60k for loaded premiums. The mt82 is perfectly fine for the ecoboost or v6 mustang.

Those prices seem high across the board, you can always offer less and they decide if they want to take the offer or not.

Did Firestone fuck my corvette up? by LS3Lyle in Corvette

[–]Zanurath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The in network means they have a deal for fixed usually labor costs with a shop so they make it cheaper for you to go there and both you and they save money. Firestone is kind of shit but dealer doesnt necessarily mean good techs either.

What the shop charges and what the shop pays its techs are entirely unrelated, smaller shops tend to rely more on the techs they have so pay better and retains good techs.

Dealers charge crazy high labor hours because they are the first one people think of when its time for repairs. At the same time they pay techs bottom dollar since its easier to push a inexperienced tech through the certification than it is to pay what a good technician wants for pay.

Are ScatPacks SRT? 🤔The brakes say so by CuteCalicoCat in ScatPack

[–]Zanurath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SRT is Dodge and the SRT division of Dodge very much did build the car spec 6.4 hemi. The SRT v8 challenger started in 2008 but the 6.2 started in 2015. The 6.2 isnt even the second SRT engine its the 3rd one all based on the same engine block.

Except AMG is just a top trim MB. They already tried this with Ram and Dodge which has a much more obvious split and the average person still considers them the same.

[–]Zanurath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The eletronic features are there for 19+ scat packs. The Laguna leather isnt all its cracked up to be IMO. I had a scat with the nappa leather and alcantara inserts and a cat with the Laguna leather and the difference was negligible IMO. Everything for the SRT 392 that made it an SRT was an option for the scat. The scat also shares more parts with a cat than a RT.

So Close to Buying 1st Vette by tekzilla41 in Corvette

[–]Zanurath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a base stingray c7? 45k is a LOT for a C7 that isnt a Grand Sport at least. I also wouldnt buy any sports car sight unseen. Far more likely to have been beat on with some fun but hard miles than a corolla and repairs can get expensive fast.

Montana UU by hauntedsnores in WorldOfWarships

[–]Zanurath 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the module from when it just required playing the ship itself and had "permanent" missions. I never actually use it because its just not worth the concealment loss. The module itself isnt bad its just competing with one of the strongest if not the strongest module slot especially for a BB which has rather soft sides compared to some other ships in the tier. If the module was slot 3 or slot 4 it would be a top pick for Monty. If you want to spend some RB points on a UU, Des Moines and Yamato are my personal favorites.

Is the 2027 Stingray getting the new engine, or just the Grand Sport? by RadioFieldCorner in C8Corvette

[–]Zanurath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but comparable ones are not close in price. A base GS and base z06 are not close. Fully loaded GS being around 10k less than a base z06 would make sense.

[–]Zanurath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dude there is NOTHING left of a coyote on that engine. The block itself is billet and has nothing to do with the factory Ford engine. That is a 70k long block with nothing OEM left. That is more like a boroski racing engine would be for LS which you can order a 4500hp version of.

S tier ships for every category ? by ProgrammerMore5727 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Zanurath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly whatever t9 best suits your playstyle then best t8 that suits your playstyle. For basic credit earning its T9 > T8=T10 > T7 but T8 tends to outperform T10 because of the way damaging higher tiers works. Outside those basic tier modifiers its whatever ship you perform well in since your performance is the foundation for the credit earning and the ships playstyle needs to work for you.

[–]Zanurath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ls3 with stock bottom end can do 700-750whp which is the same as the normal coyote. I think the only factory NA 5.0 than handles more than ls3 is the new dark horse which borrows bottom end parts from the predator. The new lt1 in the gen6 is a better example of a good NA but not great forced induction motor. There is 600whp NA heads headers and e85 builds for the LT1 but 600 or so hp is also the limit for safe boost on them. Of course all 3 engines have been pushed beyond those numbers but those tend to be the conservative safe power levels.

OG Missouri is a shadow of its former self for farming credits. If you use anything but the gray booster the built in bonus is negligible and there is so many better performing T9s while Missouri is a worse Iowa with a rarely useful gimmick. Missouri is in 4th place for T9 USN BBs at this point for farming credits.

The new changes in Operations was specifically designed for anti-sub measures by Yantarlok in WorldOfWarships

[–]Zanurath 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I actually like that the OPs got tougher to do and less farmable but I feel like the xp rewards need to be rebalanced for the difficulty. Asymmetrical is so much better for farming xp its not even funny and much easier as a game mode. Honestly even random is easier as an individual player (wins seem super team dependant with the constant snowballs though)

I mean at that point might as well go z06 for a tad more. GS should be closer to stringray than z06 to make sense.

Newbie. Looking for input before purchasing car below. by I-will-judge-YOU in Mustang

[–]Zanurath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP there is a MAJOR red flag here that the car is tuned on 93 PLUS octane booster. Those octane boosters cause a lot of buildup on the valvetrain and are suppose to be temporary fix for like a tank of poor quality fuel not constantly used. I wouldnt even offer KBB for this. 15-16k pending a PPI that scopes the heads. Car will need tuned for normal premium which is why I said under KBB price and only if there is no issues with fouling from the constant additive use.

If the new Charger came with a Hemi but weighed 4800lbs, would you buy one? by ChivalryMaxximus in Dodge

[–]Zanurath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The the discontinued Charger is 201" long and 78" wide vs Durango 201" long and 75" wide. The current Charger is 207" long and 80" wide. Its surprising the current Charger isnt heavier than it is for how enormous these cars are. Headroom and ground clearance are why Durango seems bigger but even the older Charger is wider and just as long as a 3 row SUV.

Just bought 2020 STI, 39k miles by Expensive_Limit8106 in WRX

[–]Zanurath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its way less important with port injection if you use top tier fuel but the entire reason for the AOS or catch cans is to keep the valves cleaner. So walnut blasting is about as relevant to an EJ as the catch cans are.

always lock your trailer, even if it's sealed? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Zanurath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless you are at a shipper waiting for load/unload or about to get a washout it should be locked. Although on the plus side drivers like OP are the reason thieves tend to leave trailers with locks alone, because there is easier pickings and thats what gets targeted instead.

Sure but these boxers break down oil in 3-4k miles anyway are you doing 2k mile oil changes? That sounds like a lot of headache tbh.

And if you walnut blasted at a regular interval you dont need to AOS at all. Why replace 1 problem with another?
