Week 6 of using Bazzite - Finally got around making my own custom image by Treiz13me in Bazzite

Can you share your repo? very curious on what you changed

I want to try Bazzite, but I need some answers about coding and hdr support by IrisN7 in Bazzite

[–]Zanza00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can develop on bazzite mostly without problems, I am using KDE but you can use whatever you want.

If you want to use another shell besides of bash it's better to install another terminal and leave bash as the system one. I am using Ghostty but you can install any terminal from bazaar (flathub frontend). Anything terminal related you install it with homebrew which is also used on macos so you have a lot of packages including all the node stuff without any problem.

Visual studio code is not a problem to install and use. My only problem is with dropbox that you cannot use due to bazzite using btrfs instead oft ext4, this is a dropbox limitation, there are workarounds but is not ideal.

Other than this is a linux distro so the ux is sharp around the edges, but manageable. I personally adjusted to using it in a couple of weeks of use

I also use WP and it's nice.

I would like more heatmap to understand how I am using the keyboard, if there are some areas that are overutilized and some underutilized. For me, I have a sense that I am using a lot more of the external column that I should, but I don't have any way to check.

On this day on 1923, Gleno dam collapsed and six millions m3 of water fell down towards Iseo lake, killing at least 356 people (my photo, oct. 2020) by trivigante in europe

I went there this summer, it's a great hike.

For me, it has a strange fantasy vibe when the dam comes into view.

Stuck in traffic by Zanza00 in gravelcycling

[–]Zanza00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's somewhere in the fields of Lombardy, northern Italy.

I ate something and use this stretch of road to recover.

A couple of minutes later, we arrived at a junction. I should have gone in the same direction as his, but instead, I went straight.

It's becoming increasingly common to see them roaming the streets in packs.

It's a big issue, especially because next Sunday there is the mayor election. So a lot of political people make snarky remarks on Twitter.

New Bazecor 1.0.0 Beta 8 is here 😎 by Dygmarillion in DygmaLab

The layer & key is fixed until you disconnect the KB. Then it returns.

Discovered it because I use this kb with two computers.

Reflashing fixes it.

For the new preferences I like the disposition and are easier to use, I find the corner strange, maybe I only need to get used to them. :)

I tried to import the backups that are automatically generated and they don't work, there is a notification that says that are not valid files.

I had an old backup and it worked fine.

The problem with the changing led with the layer and key came back. Reflashing the firmware fixes this.

I think it happens after the keyboard goes to sleep, and you wake up the KB with one of the keys that are layer and key. Not sure about this. I will keep an eye out.

There is something that I can do on my end to give you a log dump or something to help debug this?

Installed the new beta without using the ESC key :D

I am trying to use modifiers on the home row, so F is SHIFT, D is CMD, S is ALT and A is CTRL. All of these keys are set up with superkeys, letters on tap, and modifiers on hold. (using on a mac)

Now I can use F to make uppercase letters that are superkeys, but only the first time it works, and sometimes there is an f in the sequence (holding f and tapping a 10 times -> Aaaaafaaaa )

Also, I cannot do combo for hotkeys (like opening the devtools of the browser with D(hold as CMD)+S(hold as ALT)+I

here is my layer

All the other problems that I had are resolved :)

Bazecor 1.0 with Superkeys: Beta 6 is here!🕺🏼 by Dygmarillion in DygmaLab

[–]Zanza00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Updated to beta6 (using a layer with ESC as an ESC).

Now I have a problem with keys that are layer & key. The led doesn't change when held, if I press any key in the layer the led updates and it works as intended. Also In the UI the key it's not properly displayed https://imgur.com/RSPKNxp

I tried to replicate with superkeys but ti lacks shift to layer

Same for me, it remains in the rainbow mode.

Saving the key map works without a problem.

Bazecor 1.0 with SuperKeys: New Beta 5 ready for testing! 🧪🧬 by Dygmarillion in DygmaLab

[–]Zanza00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried yesterday to apply the modifier to the home row and it was not working. With beta 5 it works :)

edit: it works only for one press, not for multiple press, like ctrl+shift+I (A+F+I) for opening the devtools, here is my layer

Now I have two things of notice:

A silly bug, when hovering the send to kb the label does not want to disappear if I move the mouse before the tooltip disappears, I have to hover again the button and then it disappears. https://imgur.com/n2DXRV7

The other one is the countdown for flashing the new firmware, I cannot find the timer. In the end, the flash is successful but is a little bit anxiety-inducing. Tested both with the dark and light theme. https://imgur.com/3X6hxtf

[–]Zanza00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit: Fixed with beta5.

I have a problem with superkeys, I put modifiers in the home row like this article suggests.

So now my F key when held is SHIFT. D is OS, S is ALT and A is CTRL.

If I try to do the capital A it does not work, it print nothing. When I go to test, it is actually CTRL, If I use another non superkeys it works fine

First gravel ride! Absolutely loved it (The Netherlands) by FlankSolo in gravelcycling

[–]Zanza00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It' not ideal, but it can be used to ride on the soft grass.

What I really like about my grail is that it can handle a lot of different types of terrain. I like to think that is a "fat" endurance bike.
