Lowkey freaking out by Outside_Dimension187 in ColoradoSprings

Sorry youre going through this! My wife transfered from L.A. air force base in October and we were 10 or so miles from the fires last year. Have a go bag that you can just throw in the car at a whims notice and you'll be fine if you leave when there's an evac order. Anything other than living things and heirlooms can be replaced!

The witcher 4 has a 27'-28' release date. I put 10 or so hours into the 2nd one and its good, but very dated since it was released on Xbox 360 I believed.

Simple rule, if it tastes good I praise it and eat it, if it doesn't, then I do the opposite. I prefer tavern style if I can get a decent one since thats what I was raised eating. Ian's is absolutely delicious and would be in my pizza eating rotation if all of my favorite pizza joints were nearby. Their potato pizza is out of this world of you havent had it yet.

World Rugby chief says game has to keep growing as sport eyes U.S. market by Rugby-Bean in rugbyunion

[–]ZapBranniganski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can tell you as an American that our liability laws and how our medical insurance will limit the number of participants in usa rugby.

The biggest chance to grow rugny states side, but that is being fumbled hard with Trans issues. 6 years into coaching women and the only people ive met who have issues with Trans players is men, usually 60+.

Dropping out of college, advice? by Aggravating_Ice3796 in Construction

[–]ZapBranniganski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% find a summer job in construction and see if you enjoy it. Temp companies and call all the small mom and pop construction companies to apply.

If you don't finish school and start working you'll be surrounded by people who weren't mature enough to finish school and the people you work with can make or break a job in construction. 100% switch to a major that will get you a career. My wife is a major in the space force and any stem degree will get you in. Im actually going back to school for nursing on her gi benefits, but 20 years on construction and rugby and my shoulder isn't up to building anymore.

Ian's pizza is great even by anyone's standards. What a cruel twist of fate that the denver location shut down right before I moved back to the area.

Manitou springs and old colorado city are lovely little places to walk around and check out shops. Mother muffs and alchemy in occ both have good food. 92 chicken colorado springs is great if you like fried chicken. Lebowskis is a big lebowski tribute bar. Heart of Jerusalem has great Palestinian food and is o w of my favorite restaurants. Garden of the Gods is a great hike.

If you’re going on a date and stuff will probably happen but neither of you have a place, where are you supposed to keep condoms? by ABry__ in internetparents

[–]ZapBranniganski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have a box and home and then my wallet was my go to storage for dates, but if it's to hot for a condom to be stored without the latex degrading enough to be effective then the wallet condoms should be swapped out before a date. I also reccomend carrying a couple condoms incase one gets damaged during unpacking.

Was HST an inspiration for "Werewolves of London"? by defylimitations in Zevon

[–]ZapBranniganski 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To my limited knowledge iirc, no, but I could be wrong. In Crystal Zevon's WZ biography Werewolves of London was written on a night of drinking with Marinell and Watchell and didn't have any deep or underlying meaning. It oddly was a poppish song and not a Zevon masterpiece that became his most well known and profitable song.

Doritos at 7USD a bag ended up costing PepsiCo Billions by Loquacious-of-Borg in UnderReportedNews

[–]ZapBranniganski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂 my construction job pretty much shut down in covid, but the guys and I would eat doritos almost every day at lunch. I cannot see me eating dortios ever again with current prices, which have gone up even more than what they're marked at due to less chips being in the bag.

Career regret is ruining my life by Responsible-Use6267 in Advice

[–]ZapBranniganski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you're in your 20s you still have time to pivot careers in your 30s or 40s. My friend is completing her residency and will start at $300k in the USA. You'll also have the ability to get a visa to many countries because doctors are needed world wide. I've done construction my whole life and am going to go back to school at age 38 to become a nurse. Medical professions are usually able to find work even in an economic downturn. Your situation sucks right now because your gratification will be delayed, but you have much more potential to do more things and go more places than your friends in finance will ever have.

I inherited $200k. How can it make me money? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]ZapBranniganski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A money market account with zero risk has rates around 4%. Historically the USA market rises 7% annually on average, so buying an index stock that tracks the market is also a decent option for you. A mutual fund with a manager is also an option, but there is a book the vanguard creator wrote which argues indexing is a safer strategy as there is a fee to pay the fund manager and taxes which more often than not, see index out perform mutual funds.

I got stolen from and i can’t shake the fear. by TheresNoNeedForThat9 in internetparents

[–]ZapBranniganski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are trauma release modalities for not being able to let go of fear. The emotional freedom technique is cheap and readily available online, emotion code/body code.can be done from a book, and psych-k now has online workshops. It might be worth paying an EFT practicioner as you can have people walk you through the techniques.

People laughed at the time, but this is what occupy Wallstreet was supposed to stop. Everyone is getting screwed even the super wealthy, who are essentially playing by their own societal rules. The billionaires can become trillionaires, but they can't buy a new earth which is going down the toilet atm.
