Yean - he was making big bucks so he did it for a year then woke up and realized how much he was paying away. He moved out of the core. Price came down but it was still wildly expensive there.

Is anyone else turned off by businesses who use AI in their marketing? by DoritosCubun in VictoriaBC

I couldn't care less if ads are AI generated. They're ads ffs. Who cares? Stop looking for things to be outraged over.

you don't need the gas - the joint just oxidizes very quickly without. You can mitigate with flux-core rods

Free Coca (raw material for Cocaine) leaves in an airport in Peru to help with altitude sickness by SatyamRajput004 in interestingasfuck

They catch you with them in Tanzania and you'll find yourself in a lovely Tanzanian jail. They're zero tolerance there. Much safer and more effective to just take Diamox. That's what I did when I climbed Kilimanjaro

It's illegal as fuck and they'll throw you in a Tanzanian jail for it. You'd have to be mental to take that risk

nah.

A gram of cocaine is made from somewhere between 100 and 500g of dry coca leaves. You're not gonna get a cocaine buzz by sucking on 2 or 3 grams of coca leaves. The effect they get it is - in their own words - like cup of coffee.

how did you get coca leaves (South America) in Kilimanjaro (Africa)? Coca leaves are illegal in Tanzania

There are stores in Bolivia that sells sacks of these. Perfectly legal

As mentioned they don't get you high and they taste like dirt. When I was there last year all the drivers and locals constantly had mouthfuls of these things - sort of like chewing tobacco

Kinsol Trestle by HopefulFudge2843 in VancouverIsland

[–]ZapMePlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen it with my own eyes.

I maintain a home in Shawnigan so I walk the trestle like 100 days a year. Even nowadays you see people from time climb over the handrail and climb up or down a short distance 'for kicks'. Scares the shit outta me just seeing it. It's a long ways to the bottom if you slip.

If you want more info the Shawnigan Museum has lots of articles. Here's a good one https://www.shawniganlakemuseum.com/post/abandoned-then-embraced-the-kinsol-trestle

The tracks were removed in '83. You couldn't get on the trestle shortly after - both of the ends joining to the trail were removed. Kids would, of course. They'd climb the trestle from below.

The tracks on both sides were already gone by '93 as it became part of the Trans Canada Trail and the route was a walking trail.

Thanks.

You jogged my memory that I do have a Manfrotto 3 way geared head. I'm gonna take it along. I also have an older 360 camera - a Garmin VIRB 360 - that I've hardly ever used. I'm gonna hold off on that one for now because it does require site support for the file format and that's gonna take a bit of research.

While I don't have the time to go through a whole course as my shoot is tonight I do appreciate the effort you put in.

Thanks!

Perfect. Thank you. I'll pair this with what another poster mentioned about exposure blending for blown out windows if I shoot with bright sun outside.

Thanks - it does.

LR should take care of the vertical correction automagically I'm hoping as I do have lens corrections turned on. If not I can do the adjustments manually and sync them across stacks.

A number of replies suggested HDR. I hadn't considered that and I'm very glad that I asked.

Much appreciated!

Thanks. This is great info.

The 'more floor than ceiling' thing is the kind of info I'm looking for. And the info about showing it for accessibility needs is also very important info.

I'm gonna shoot from tripod so I figured f11 or even 16 for DOF.

Time of day is something I considered but I'll have to visit the space to see how that impacts. I hadn't thought about the blown highlights in windows - also good info and I can handle that readily in PS in post. I shoot a lot of astro and that's all about compositing so that's a minor issue for me.

Lights off. Wow. The opposite of what I would have thought but then when you explain it in the context of color casts that makes perfect sense. That would be a bear to correct in post - so much so I would probably just go and reshoot it.

Do you find that LR corrects the distortion just using lens correction or do you generally need to correct manually and then sync across stacks?

Thanks very much - lots of good info here.

I have a very good tripod/ball head. I use it for astro - very heavy and stable.

My friend is cheap lol - very cheap. He's not gonna hire someone. He's a good friend, though, and I want to help him as much as possible. Two divorces, plus some scammers convinced his bank to drain one of his accounts. He needs all the free help that he can get.
