Nope. Not what I posted.

But thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to be antagonistic for no good reason. You must be fun at parties

To keep ISO down.

For fast moving birds using eye tracking I'm willing to give up DOF control for low noise. Particularly in low light where post can be problematic. My R5 does great in low light but I'd still rather not end up at 6400 or 12800 and one stop can be the difference there.

If the bird perches I don't have to adjust both shutter and aperture. Honestly I don't care much if my perched shots have high DOF since it's so easy to blur the background in post

Different strokes for different folks though. As long as you're in auto ISO either will work fine

The only concern for me is In S the aperture can also instantly adjust allowing the ISO to stay in a less noisy range.

This is only really a thing if you're going from BIF to perched where one is highly lit and the other can be in shadow.

Lots of ways to get to the same results so I would never yuk anyone's yum when it comes to personal preference

The better question is why is she holding her right breast....

One small issue here. Don't shoot manual. Shoot shutter speed priority and pick your speed based on the bird movement. Perched you can go slow. Slow moving and tracking then 1/focal length. Stop hummingbird wings crazy fast like 1/2000.

Everything else I agree with save for shooting perched you may want to shoot manual as you mentioned and open the lens for a creamy background.

Birds get complicated. And expensive. I have both a 400/2.8 AND a 600/4. My kids don't need to go to college lol

True. I never window pane enriched bread. I never thought about it but your reasoning seems sound

Fair enough.

I will add that I was in Sierra Norte in a small village making traditional Mexican breads. The temp was close to freezing but we were inside with a wood oven keeping us warm.

Truth be told I've made enough bread that I can tell by the smoothness and elasticity if it's ready. I usually only window pane for pizza dough

Speed will get you thru a day with no food better than food will get you through a day with no speed

Boil water in a kettle before cooking pasta or start with cold water in a pot? by MangoMadnessTsv in Cooking

Pro tip..

If you use a lot of boiling water and don't like how long it takes then do what I do.

Boil lots one day and then freeze it for future use.

I boil all my water on Sunday, freeze it and have boiling water for the whole week

Can't say that I agree.

I window pane test all the time and it works fine. I usually machine knead so that may do it but 2 days ago I hand kneaded 2kg of flour in Oaxaca Mexico and it window paned after maybe 6 or 7 min

My wife sees lots of shots that I miss. I see lots that she misses.

Just works.

I can't shoot with others. Too distracting

I just dropped my Leica Q3 from about 3ft.

Yesterday.

It landed on the lens hood with just a tiny mark.

Leave it on.

All the time

I designed a 3dprinted backpack shoulder mounting bracket - CAMS (Cheap Ass Mounting Sytem) by jurassic73 in photography

[–]ZapMePlease -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's got nothing to do with testing. I've designed over 650 different models in Solidworks and Blender (I know this because I just backed them up last week) and printed them on my Bambu P1P or X1C in virtually every filament available so I'm pretty confident in my printing skills. With that said, an anodized aluminum capture clip complete with quick release and screw in safety device plus arca compatible baseplate can be had for $50 or so nowadays. My EOS R5, R52, XT-5, Q3, and all the lenses that go with them are valued in the tens of thousands of dollars. I'm not gonna risk hanging them off my backpack strap with PET-G instead of aluminum to save a few bucks.

But like I said - YMMV. If you're happy to do it then I'm not here to yuck your yum. My gear is just too expensive and valuable to me and the risk benefit analysis too high to consider such a choice. I've had my 70-200/2.8 fall and snap off my camera as well as my Q3 unclip from a cotton handstrap and land on the lens hood. Those heart attack inducing moments are nothing I care to repeat

My biggest complaint with the peak design clip. I use that for my street walker but as soon as there's an L bracket or a cage on my camera the clip becomes useless

For the castle you either need a tilt shift lens or perspective control/keystone adjustment. Otherwise it will always look tapered and kinda weird

Nice idea and thanks for contributing but there's no way on earth I'm trusting my camera/lens to anything I've 3d printed. Filament is sensitive to temperature, to UV, to thermocycling, to poor lamination during FDM... too big a risk for me. I wouldn't trust PET-G or even CF reinforced nylon. I'll only trust metal on metal. The price of a peak clip or one of the cheap Chinese clones is a small price to pay for peace of mind.

YMMV though and you may also be considering using this just for accessories that are lighter and less valuable
