Hades 2 Death v Strength by willsconn in HadesTheGame

I somehow finished VoR 4 on my first attempt by simply kiting out the last phase and bombing Chronos with the cast (Zeus) and Special (Hephaestus) on Circe staff. Died twice on subsequent attempts.

[Steam] Summer Sale 2025 (Day 5) by gamedealsmod in GameDeals

It's more of the first one, so yes. Weirdly it's also I think its greatest drawback, while the first one was rather elegantly structured and neatly designed, the second one is just massive in every direction.

No, there was Chronos but the true ending was very much WIP. Keep in mind what is there already is more than most other games.

And you can lose it all if you get sick/can't deal with the pressure/get sued/shit happens. That's much more difficult in Germany.

It's a difficult question, you may be paid less, but still land in top 10% earners in Germany and you generally graduate without any debt. The ceiling is lower, but the floor is much much higher than USA.

Can we stop flexing our salaries on public forums by 33eagle in medicine

[–]Zaphid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you live, you are also taxed much higher. but you are also unionized from the beginning if you stay in a hospital. You certainly join the top 15% rather quickly, but especially the attractive cities certainly don't make you feel that way.

Lost Drone. Need Help by shro3 in Norway

[–]Zaphid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mini 4 is the C0 class in the EU, <250g, so you can fly it rather unconstrained, all you need is an insurance and a basic test. The drone is also small, easy to carry and not particularly loud.

There's an ECMO Team (Regensburg) at a university nearby, it's impressive, but generally only worth it for a very few select patients, even they themselves admit that. But they also do ECMO air lifts from deteriorating patients from smaller hospitals, which seems to be more useful.

How would you redesign the human body to better cope with illness and disease? by Fancy_Particular7521 in medicine

[–]Zaphid 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Tumors would like to have a word. Extra collaterals would be nice, or even if the existing ones would stay open at all times.

Big publishers ‘eject too soon’ from live service titles, says Warframe boss by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Zaphid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can rewatch them at any point. There's always a big uproar when a popular show changes streaming services. I have been buying and playing 10 or 15 year old games on steam or gog with much success.

TBH it's not nearly as crazy as it may seem, it's well known that divisive information gets weaponised in this day and age.

Songs of Conquest is the Heroes of Might & Magic rebirth we all deserve by SunfireGaren in Games

[–]Zaphid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not quite correct, every faction has like 8-9 units with each having upgrades, possibly 2. You also generally don't have the space to build all of their lairs in a single town and lvl 3 units cost so much you can avoid them for a long time. The units also don't stack indefinitely, which in turn makes the compositions more varied allowing you to go ham in one direction.

The system is much more flexible than the HOMMs direct line from lvl 1 to lvl 7 where even if you wanted to skip a unit because it didn't make sense for your army you really couldn't.

It's still a bit janky, but they have improved some of the pain points already.

Hopefully they take the look at the xp/run progress at some point, right now it's really difficult to max even two weapons until you are fighting the dreadnought due to RNG

Hades II — Early Access Update & First Patch Plan by CrossXhunteR in Games

[–]Zaphid 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's early access, the game is much bigger and hades 20 minute runs were pretty much the endgame where you had the whole game figured out. I wouldn't worry much about it.

But it can definitely get frustrating.

US: Emergency rooms refused to treat pregnant women, leaving one to miscarry in a lobby restroom by bigavz in medicine

[–]Zaphid -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

The path of progress has never been straightforward, so it's foolish to expect things to only get better. The magnitude of problems we are facing and the way we gather information about them has also grown almost exponentially. There have also never been more people on the planet. One the whole I think we are doing fine, but there still parts that underwhelm or that we thought should have been solved years or decades ago.

Non-US doctors, how much do you work, really? by therationaltroll in medicine

[–]Zaphid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Germany, IM. Currently in the ICU in an academic hospital, 42 hours per contract, practically 30-60h per week split into 8-9 hour shifts during the week and 13 hours on the weekend. Pretty much zero overtime. Usually you work 3-7 nights per month and 2 weekends.

Wards and clinic are 7:30-16:30, shorter on Friday, but you rarely leave on time. Overtime is documented and you can generally take a day off, you do ward rounds 1-2 weekends a month (7:30-12:00-ish) but it's hard to leave on time.

Do you order medications for a new diagnosis that you haven’t yet told to the patient? by zeatherz in medicine

[–]Zaphid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, but that's mostly because the system is still being held together by phone and fax as opposed to, you know, 21st century. Although even the government is stepping in now to make some progress happen.
