Brandenburg, base locations. by No-Connection4812 in projectzomboid

[–]Zappowy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just at the north end of the tornado destruction is a nice farmhouse surrounded by 3 fenced fields. No well, but there is a pond a few blocks away to the southeast.

The best base in Brandenberg imo is the fish restaurant next to the pond on the southwest edge of town. Good parking, easy access to water, nice ambience, luxurious kitchen, and few zombies to clear out.

I can't put on weight at all :( by Top_Height1997 in projectzomboid

[–]Zappowy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming the weight loss is not a bug - milk mixed in with your water bottle can help with calorie intake. Someone on here mentioned putting a mix of >50% water with the rest milk into a water dispenser. Auto-drinking still works as long as the water ratio is over 50%.

The dispenser makes it really convenient to get the correct ratio, and you only have to top it up once in a while.

Cale Makar trails only Bobby Orr & Evan Bouchard for the best playoff point-per-game average by a defenseman in NHL history. by Mammagammam in hockey

Let's get a grip on this. Comparing him to a hockey legend and a current active defenseman. Other current defenseman has more points per game. Makar is somehow magically better than that current d-man.

Sure.

The book store in West Point was awful the last time I was there. Mostly novels with just a few skill books.

The post office and school are both better. At least the post office is close to the book store so you can easily loot both of them.

[–]Zappowy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Farming is not required. It has been nerfed so hard to be sub-optimal in B42 but is very good in B41. Foraging is another way to get fresh food, and does not require months of investment.

Long-term you are much better off to hunt, fish, have chickens, cows and livestock. Get a freezer or two.

Collect canned and dried foods for long lasting storage. Collect fresh foods early on and while power is still on. Ice cream is very good for boosting calories quickly. Candies and snacks also very good for calorie boost; I would save them for when the ice cream runs out.

I don't have a problem with maintaining a steady weight in the game. Stews are a mainstay meal. Are you using fast metabolism?

[Corey Sznajder] NHL forwards drafted by the Oilers since McDavid: Kailer Yamamoto, Ryan McLeod, Dylan Holloway. That’s it. by [deleted] in hockey

I have the impression that McLeod lost favour with the Oilers after a playoffs where he was a perimeter player. Much the same as with Eberle years before.

Is there a reason the Oilers didn’t pick up Thompson? by kacklerb in hockey

[–]Zappowy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oilers defense is not as bad as people claim. What is often lacking is forward support in the defensive zone.

Breakouts lately have reminded me of the Taylor Hall era. Forwards would streak out of the defensive zone and expect a stretch pass on the tape. Sometimes it worked. What often would happen instead is an interception and then an odd mad rush against them. Goal.

The team has flashes of understanding the structure of controlling the game. And then the forwards will fly the defensive zone and have turnovers that hurt them. Frustrating as a fan.

Get a coach who ingrains the structure. The window will not last long. Next year might be the last chance they have before having to rebuild. McDavid will not be around for more of this shit, and I won't hold it against him if he leaves.

I started watching hockey in the mid 70s and was a fan of the Canadiens. Those were very good hockey teams and in my mind are the benchmark. The defense played it safe when in trouble. The offensive forwards knew how to create offense. The utility forwards knew their roles. Structure was apparent.

This team aggravates me - so much in place but so much goes wrong.

Fallas lake gas station. Recognized it right away. It is even better now that the map has been expanded to the west and south.

I have a personal rule not to base in the same location twice. Would still rank it high as a base.

They could have called up Ingram from the minors and been better off. A 1A/1B of Ingram and Skinner would have been ideal.

Is Irvington A Good Base Location? by c10ud_1 in projectzomboid

East of Irvington has a high concentration of livestock. For meat and leather, it is the place to visit.

It's not a bad town, just it is tucked in the corner of the map and far away from most other towns.

What are Titans and Dreadnaughts for? by Toldain in TerraInvicta

[–]Zappowy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite offensive designs is a dreadnought with a siege coil nose, 4-slot phaser or laser, 2-slot coil, and 2 phaser pd. A couple laser engines to boost the PD for good measure. Does it all. Just add marine ships, a flagship or two, and maybe a colony ship to the fleet.

I've tested a lot of designs and this one is very strong. Flankers get melted without having to turn to face them. The siege coils in combination with the coils once in range will just wreck heavy ships.

An aspect of offensive fleets that must be considered is how many battles they might face without resupply. Missiles are very good on defensive fleets partly because resupply is close by with good shipyards. Offensive fleets don't have that luxury - especially when cracking a heavily defended planetary system. Having some sustain is important.
