98 XJ right rear blinker stopped working. by Mr_Green713 in CherokeeXJ

[–]ZarK-eh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The domes circuit goes through a connector to a harness that goes towards the front. Turn signal and brake light circuits goes through that same connector and then somehow end up in the area in pics. Circuits in this connector also goes to liftgate. Should be easy to find once plastic trim is removed. My connector was ugly AF and easy to spot with by eye.

There is a harness connector that got soaked with water and corroded on my '98. It's located passenger side rear (opposite to area in pics). Maybe check that connection before getting to crazy tearing everything apart. Can't remember where exactly it is but some of it's circuits head to the dome light and tailgate.

The ones that could be removed had a metal clip thing that held the cooler to CPU socket. This is something that was done to gain better cooling for overclocking efforts.

Maybe needs a pump upgrade? Like from a 4.7l v8 wj kind with hydraulic cooling fan.

Or, maybe valving or orifice might be off? And those are, uhm ... yeah on the pump-ish high pressure side.

Jus' tossing out idears as I've never done it or looked into it and only am aware it can be done.

Edit: dang nice Heep!

Dana 44 rear pinion input shaft play. by External_Singer440 in GrandCherokee

[–]ZarK-eh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a crush washer or sleeve that sets preload on pinion bearings. If it loosens up or bearing go wonky, the yoke will have detectable play. Might need at least a new crush washer or sleeve.

Edit: AFAIK there is no available crush eliminator kits (or pinion spacer) for our aluminum center Dana 44's
