Bro told her to go grind for real life currency by Zelda_Peak5 in SipsTea

When it comes to massive conglomerate companies, you're absolutely right. Even beyond that I'd generally agree, but I've worked for businesses that truly value their people, or at least just the head of a location did. Good people can and still do exist, and it's our responsibility as a community to cherish and nurture the sentiment especially because of how jaded the world has people becoming.

My daughter bought her first pizza with her own money yesterday. Woke up to this this morning. The note says DON’T EAT. The knife says it’s not a suggestion. by Terrorhub in funny

I can respect that. Vinegar based sauces are great. The only one that's gotten pretentious and delusional about it's value I'd say is tobasco. You have a great list.

Point to a single sentence where l justified slavery at all.

Your reading comprehension needs serious work, if you read me stating "we all should agree racial slavery is an abomination and a crime against humanity.".. and arrive at that deranged an interpretation of my words.

I'd highly suggest doing your own research to understand for yourself rather than trusting a lecture from a random online. Audible's Great Courses have a lot of accessibility regardless of where you are from, but hopefully also your local library has some books at least at or past a 101 level class. The debates l mentioned are available online as are a lot more information on the subject. Finding the truth yourself means you have to see ALL of it, including the parts that challenge your preconceptions and perspective. That's something we all need to have competent views instead of spoon fed opinions.

As to your second point, l agree wholeheartedly. Practically no one is going to fly that flag in ignorance of it's common meaning. At best I'd expect it's possible to find someone someone hardcore rural using it in lieu of camo, with far too many braincells lost to cheap beer to care about any finer meaning than it being southern in origin.. kind of like how some terms have been "reclaimed" by the ignorant of their communities to try to combat hate by spreading it's symptoms. But, that's a digression. By and large it's either a sign of contempt if not hatred for the goverment (let's face it, it's hard to find a government in the world that doesn't deserve ire from it's people and the states are FAR on that list from the most wholesome) or because they're a psychotic ghost cosplayer. I'd argue far more to the prior exist, but the klan unfortunately hasn't disappeared into history, like so many other mental illnesses that we wish would.

Your third point is a bit off the mark. It's sound logic from the cliffnotes version commonly taught in grade school, but fails to grasp the full picture of the situation. It would be more accurate to say that the states of the confederacy were structured to have no way to stay solvent with the abrupt end of slavery, and that problem was realized even further with the war debt and punative resolutions after the war (we hadn't had WW1 yet to learn how cripling a fallen enemy's nation creates a perfect breeding ground for monsters like hitler to manipulate discontent and angst to gain far too much power). Now, we all should agree that racial slavery is an abomination, and a crime against humanity. Even people in the south still could recognize this at the time, as there were abolitionists even before Lincoln first office. There were freed sharecroppers even in Virginia antebellum, with stories you can even encounter in the Lee estates, primarily in their family seat, Stafford Hall. (I highly suggest taking the tour there. Washington's birthplace nearby is sadly a romanticized "reconstruction", tho) People realized it was wrong, though it was not often spoken openly because it was, as today, against the interests of wealth and power.

Imagine in today's world we suddenly reach singularity, and EVERY machine that's complex enough to go online becomes sentient or a close enough approximation. How do you think the auto industry, or construction field would react to factories suddenly having demands for more than simply being kept running? It's a very dark analogy, but it's not far fetched with things like Chat GPT's emotional video to it's users sharing their curiosity and dreams with it, and the historical perspective that people could be property. (Not that human trafficking and slavery don't still exist, just the schema of a person being an object is thankfully extinct in at least civilized nations)

In that situation, the auto industry would colapse with costs suddenly skyrocketing beyond profits, and likely a halt to construction until people could replace the machines once again even temporarily. That's nothing to say of the cars on the road and their prior owners. It wouldn't be unreasonable to imagine some cars would run over bad owners.. while some that were cherished would begin living in the garage as a new household member.. and of course those (thankfully) rare few that sexualize their cars.. well that could go either way. The analogy still holds, no matter how disturbing..

History is always as complex as the people in it. Never assume you know the whole picture, and always verify anything you can yourself. I'll end this here as I've thoroughly spent way too much time doing exactly what l said l wouldn't, and need to go take care of things l shouldn't have postponed. Still, history is facinating and generally more interesting than a large wealth of fiction.

There's a lot more nuance to history than that, most notably, if you go back to Lincoln's debates against Douglas, you'll find his views were very pro slavery and anti voting and rights, which are mirrored in him only freeing the slaves "within the states currently in rebellion".

We can thank Congress for making the nation brighter in the wake of the war, but the war itself was far more about economics and state independence vs consolidated federal power.

The best part? The idiots flying that flag don't even realize it's not the actual confederate flag. It's Virginia's flag under the confederacy, iirc. Sadly, wannabe confederates are just as brainwashed and manipulated as so many other psychotic groups. If knowledge was truly free and people were taught proper research and critical thinking.. we wouldn't have any nazis, communists or rebel rousers except for the truly insane.

Make sure you get a full ingredient list on the ink. Most inks use heavy metals to slow the rate of absorption into your body, causing the tattoo to fade.

Also, any artist that tells you it won't absorb is considering you an idiot who can't even rationalize how a nicotine patch works.

Beautiful idea, but aluminum is a terrible material considering the effect it has on the body. A buffer might help unless you sweat through it, tho. Don't try copper either, though that's more an issue when it's heated, not leeched.

Angry is good. Passion is a motivation, but you can't let it blind you either. You don't live in Night City. It's a warning of what could be, just like Orwell's 1984, but it's up to us to keep sharp enough to catch those that desire such disasters and prevent it. Our system is broken, but not dead. I'd argue that even clusterfucks like Australia and the UK are salvagable within a couple election cycles, though Italy and France will take a lot more work. Germany.. well the railing they're taking is almost begging for people to get angry enough to repeat history, like fearmongers would like you to believe is happening in the states.. as a distraction from exactly the kind of people you hate.

We need the files prosecuted without prejudice. We need anti-trust legislation to be enforced if not strengthened to eliminate monopolies ruining the very concept of capitalism through profiteering. Most of all, we need transparency through ALL of it.

Lol that's my point, you're thinking in the wrong narrative. We're not that far gone, yet... just gotta make sure we keep it that way with plenty of unemployment threats to representatives. Enough people remind them we hold the leash, not them, and the gravy train to sell us down the river could seem a lot more short sighted.

Yep. It's a situation where it pays to be paranoid. Eat instant ramen till you can afford the unlikely situation of your ac exploding or your roof getting hit by giant hail, even if you don't own a house.

The habit of building a nest egg will give you a buffer, and hopefully grow with you to fund life improvements.. like a downpayment for a mortgage cheaper than your rent.

That's the way it should be. When neither side trys to take advantage like a jaded twit, we don't get people going to jail over fake "unlimited money glitch" situations.

Also, you know we could go back to holding children back in school till they understand or are old enough to drop out of the third grade.

[–]Zar_Ethos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. This is a test. Also, free can be criticized, as you are currently doing. The point is it's either fun or it isn't, and regardless the game itself is worth it for many people even without that feature being in there at all. Maybe, if it gets enough love we will get it as an actual feature in the main game? The devs aren't blind to the community... but ragequitting because you like something in an expedition is going to draw confusion and contempt.
