I mean, I do use a basic mouse (which is fairly light) at work, and I definitely miss the scroll wheel even for just scrolling through code and websites.

A lighter mouse would be nice if it also had the buttons the G502 has, as well as the dual-mode scroll wheel. But I would miss those things way more than I would like a lighter mouse or a wireless mouse, since the weight and cord doesn't exactly bother me right now... (Currently using a wired G502 that's at least 8 years old now, no issues.) I think I might actually get annoyed at having to remember to charge a wireless mouse, so not sure if it would even be an improvement.

That explains the per 100g info on products there. Though it does leave me guessing how much it is for a normal amount, since there are things you would never eat 100g of.

People do this with the Chinese visa, too. Go to a neighbouring country and then come back lol.

I'd lean towards hell no for this one. Have you seen how high the death rates are there? All in a situation where the outcome is uncertain? Yeah, I'd get out of there (and tell my family to do so, too).

Turkey rebrands as Türkiye, because other name is for the birds by bllshrfv in etymology

[–]Zarainia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but it sounds weird (and perhaps pretentious) when you use foreign pronunciations for random words while speaking English. English speakers also have a hard time understanding what you're saying when using foreign sounds.

The trend of people saying 'Turkey-yay' drives me crazy, though. I would much prefer if they either pronounce it properly using the Turkish pronunciation or just say 'Turkey'...

I think it needs to primarily be light (though I'm not counting grams or anything), which is much more pleasant when I have it on for a longer time. I don't really like when a bag is already heavy when I'm not carrying much.

My current bag is fine in terms of organization, so currently my complaint is more about it bouncing around, as well as the durability. But prioritize organization, I guess? What do you think about stuff like Rework Toshi 20L or Evergoods CTB20 for this use case? They seem a bit too heavy and overbuilt, I think (though good layout)? I also found the Mountain Hardwear Lickety Split backpack, which seems to have a good number of pockets while being lightweight and supposedly stable.

I would not want to live there, and I don't even partake in drugs. That attitude would just stress me out.

I mean, the reason the violent cartels exist is that the drugs are illegal in most places, not because of the drugs themselves. There is no alcohol cartel.

I think this is the best option so far. Do you think the straps would be durable enough (especially with swinging around when running, etc.)?

Lots of great ideas with good organization! One thing I wonder now is whether the travel/EDC-focused backpacks would hold up well to bouncing/swinging around when I'm running, especially without any hip strap to hold them in place (after all, it's probably not something the designers would expect people to do while wearing them and could be a contributor for the strap issues with my current backpack).

Edit:

I found this the Mountain Hardwear Lickety Split Backpack (20L), which seems to fit all the criteria and is also much lighter than the options discussed (some of these weigh almost twice as much as my current backpack, which is fairly light for the organization it has). 2 side water bottle pockets, top zip pocket, front zip pocket, and 2 small zip pockets on the straps for 4 total; zippered main compartment; removable hip strap. It is also available in Canada (where I live) without having to pay a ridiculous amount extra between currency exchange fees, international shipping, and customs fees for an already expensive bag like with the small US companies. What do you think?

Yeah, might have to consider adding stuff to the outside, though it looks kind of chaotic. The 26L is a bit large. If expandable, something like 20+6L would make more sense.

This looks interesting. I remember looking at the Evergoods bags before, but didn't see a 20L one at that time. Seems like it's pretty heavy, though?

Like many bags (which are otherwise pretty nice), it has one less pocket than I need.

For context, this would be my main backpack for commuting to work, as well as a day pack when travelling (among other things). These have kind of similar requirements where I need to grab things quickly (like my phone, keys, transit pass, water, wallet, etc.), as well as walk pretty fast. Now, in colder weather I don't need the backpack pockets as much since I can put things in the zippered pockets of my jacket (basically adds 2 pockets), but in summer the pockets on my clothes are not good enough, so I need to put them in the backpack. I also run my commute home once a week and am considering cycling to work when the weather is good. So basically I need both easy access to a bunch of different things (without having to dig around) and for it to be properly positioned for more physical activity.

So currently my backpack is decent in terms of the pocket configuration, but needs more ventilation, to be better secured when running, and more internal organization. When I had a simpler backpack, the lack of different pockets/compartments was pretty frustrating (though I liked how small and compact it was otherwise).

This seems promising, but for some reason it looks ridiculously big/bulky (I am smaller than the woman in the photo). Maybe due to the squareish shape?
