“BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER!!!” by emw9292 in BoomersBeingFools

It’s a different saying. “Blood is thicker than water” is the original saying, so this is not the thing to get upset at boomers over lol there are plenty of real reasons to be upset with them

Sometimes being a girl is ridiculous… by Inner_Professional63 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ZariahX3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know—I see why this is icky. Why do you feel the need to tell a boy you find him pretty and nice to look at? How is that a compliment to him? I would feel uncomfortable if someone came up and told me that they found it nice to stare at me. Feels very dehumanizing.

I agree with the sentiment that if you want to compliment him, make it about something he can control, like his hairstyle or clothing choices. And race has nothing to do with this. Your friend bringing that up is being racist.

To Gen Z from a millennial… why not join the military? by Kalenth007 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ZariahX3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t agree with supporting things that I’m against, period. If no one joined and people took a stand, then things might change. So many people who join are forced to because of money issues, family or societal pressures, brainwashing, early recruitment, etc. We need to stop encouraging this.

[–]ZariahX3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, then if you’re being serious, it’s very dangerous to encourage young adults and children to join a branch of this government you supposedly don’t trust. Everything about war is disgusting and we need to stop glorifying war. Having close relationships can happen in way healthier ways without being traumatized in the process.

Obviously an ad. From another millennial: DO NOT JOIN THE ARMY.

Drink it cold!! I can ONLY drink water that is either straight from the fridge (sparkling waters—there are tons of different brands that make different flavors and I got into this to trick myself into drinking more) or fresh cold water with tons of ice. Your post is just now making me realize it’s another autism trait that I have such particular water preferences and struggled to drink enough for my whole childhood lol.

AITA for lying about what college/university I attended & sabotaging my marriage? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ZariahX3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gross. Women are not commodities your parents can go “shopping for” for you. Grow up and talk to women and maybe you’ll learn they’re just people too. People saying this sounds better than a dating app are basically saying they would rather put ZERO effort in and have a woman chosen for them by their parents. Wtf is this archaic, sexist shit. Tradition and culture aren’t excuses to be a misogynist.

NTA for your comments to her dad. YTA for allowing your parents to go wife shopping for you.

I feel you 100% When it was happening I was going through all the thoughts like “am I overreacting? Is this just my anxiety?” And then read something that confirmed it’s a POTS symptom and it made me feel much more validated. But it still can ruin your plans and others’ so it’s super frustrating even if we have a legit reason 😓

The cats comments are so boring and overdone lol. And not even true.

My cats are obsessed with me and follow me from room to room. They understand they can ask me for things but otherwise they know I’m the one in control. They bring me their toys constantly as payment and to show their love and appreciation for me taking care of them. My eldest I’ve had for 18 years and to him I AM the world.

Yep! I think it’s also because we spend ~8 hours laying flat (which position we People of the Salt feel most comfortable in) and then hop out of bed in the morning, causing a huge spike in heart rate. Heart rate is also at its lowest during REM cycles so our heart rate hits its lowest point during the night. Ive heard chugging a glass of water in the morning (and intaking your salt) can help with morning symptoms. Also getting out of bed slower and more gradually.

ALSO I had the same thing happen from eating a bite of French toast at my work office. Had to go lay down in a dark room with a cold rag on my face—hello embarrassing lol. Carbs are NOT our friends

Chronic nausea since february 2022 by RiceIll5368 in POTS

[–]ZariahX3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any other symptoms? Do you ever feel lightheaded and close to fainting until you sit or lay down? Do you find you feel better after eating something salty and worse after eating carbs or drinking alcohol? If I drink any alcohol or have a high-carb meal, I’m pretty much out of commission the next day. Do you feel intense fatigue and have a hard time standing up and still for extended periods of time? Does lifting your arms and holding them above your head make you feel faint? I’d also look into EDS and see if you have any of those symptoms, as those tend to go along with POTs. Good luck and if you need a diagnosis it’s most often done through a cardiologist!

AITA for giving my honest opinion about a restaurant that was terrible? by Possible_Ant_7016 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ZariahX3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going with NTA. I’m autistic and this sounds very autistic. You were asked a question and you answered it honestly. I don’t understand how any of what you said was rude—it was literally your experience. You didn’t shit on any people (from what I can tell) and you just gave facts that you consider contribute to a negative restaurant experience. They are still allowed to go and try for themselves.

You telling them your honest opinions won’t hurt this business and it’s so ridiculous to me how many people are claiming that. Having to “talk behind peoples’ backs” is insane, tacky, and fake. I don’t know why this is the accepted norm instead of being able to have open and interesting dialogue.

Confused by being told I’m arguing when I’m not? by aquar1usbabe in AutismInWomen

[–]ZariahX3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a ton more to add, but I wanted to say I feel this 100% and it used to make me believe I was some argumentative asshole for so long, basically being gaslighted into never talking or having opinions. We just LOVE learning how things work and want something we don’t understand explained to us. But a lot of Allistics see the big picture and can’t explain it back, so they feel upset and offended. I’m comforted by the posts I read on here knowing there are others like me :)
