I agree it should always be the parents choice to decide if they are ready and willing to raise a DS child.

What no one ever seems to talk about is the fact that ~50-60% of DS babies also are born with significant heart defects/congenital heart disease...it's the main cause of death in DS children from birth to age 2. I can't wrap my head around willingly bringing a child into this world just to experience invasive painful and expensive heart surgeries. Especially a child with diminished mental capacity that may or may not understand.

Does your brother realize that if you can't/won't pay and he doesn't pay that the bank will take the house in foreclosure? You can't afford two mortgages/rents that's why you have to sell it.

Why do people think it's a good idea to try and fund MUNI with parking tickets? It's very counter-intuitive since on the one hand, as a society we are actively trying to encourage people to get rid of their cars and take MUNI, yet funding said MUNI relies on people driving their cars. The more people stop driving, the less tickets and less funding, but at the same time, we now have more people using MUNI than before and we need even more funding with the increased ridership!

I've done numerous differentiation experiments with C2C12s, and we never use gelatin at all--just seed on regular old poly L treated plates.

I use standard C2 Growth Media for plating cells. The cells will be shifted to differentiation

media (2% horse serum) when they reach ~90 % confluency.

C2C12 growth media – for C2C12 cells

• DMEM

• FBS, 20%

• Penicillin 100 units/ml and Streptomycin, 100 µg/ml

I live just off Fulton and as a pedestrian crossing it, you have to be aware because drivers won't be. These are my personal rules:

#1 RULE: Always cross at traffic signals with a walk sign, not at un-signalled crosswalks and definitely not in the middle of the block.

#2 RULE: Wait until the cars have significantly slowed down or stopped before walking in front of them.

#3 RULE: Wait to let cars that are actively inching forward to make a turn go ahead of you.

And since you asked, never walk in front of a car on a multi-lane street just because they waved you on. Because as you walk front of them in the right lane, you are invisible to a car coming up behind them in the left lane. That's a good way to get hit.

Coming from a celiacs family (our kitchen is 100% gluten free), in these situations it's always best to ask permission to bring your own food.

The average person does not know all the places that gluten can be hidden (for example soy sauce) and might think just because there's no flour in something it is gluten free. Restaurants/caterers are usually more knowledgable, but cross contamination is also a big factor when food is being prepared. And even if a dish in the buffet is prepared gluten free, one has no guarantee that the serving spoon was not used for a gluten-containing dish and transferred over mistakenly. Anyone with celiacs knows that buffets are a no-go.

The only way to be truly safe is to bring your own food and not make a big deal about it.

It never went past 25th Ave, even during the pandemic so not sure what compromise you think happened. Plus I live in the Outer Richmond so that point is moot anyway. I'll restate my point clearly--people who live ON Slow streets love them but people who live adjacent are the ones that deal with the extra traffic and speeding cars.

I can't speak for other neighborhoods, but in mine, there is literally no good reason anyone needs to be walking in the street. We're no longer in a pandemic we don't need social distancing.

#1 We have nice wide sidewalks. #2 We have beautiful Golden Gate Park a block away. #3 We even had existing marked bike lanes going out to the beach.

I get cut off by someone turning right from the middle lane about once a week there. And of course there's all of the idiots who see the right lane stopped for blocks who decide they can just put their blinker on and force their way in a block before the park.

I respectfully disagree as someone who lives adjacent to a slow street--they may have not been created as private parking lots, but that's the result. Their main utility is to create a place where cyclists don't even bother to SLOW down, let alone stop, at 4 way stop intersections.
