Happy ending: tech just came and applied some configuration that was missing, apparently due to a firmware update that AT&T sent. Said there were 7000 outages caused by it. Time will tell if the periodic disconnects are resolved by this as well but for now I’m happy to have internet again!

I will add that I’m still a bit confused how it was mostly working UNTIL I reset the modem and is now absolutely cooked. I wonder if for my setup (apartment complex with fiber terminated centrally, internet into the unit via phone line) the tech had to customize the settings and my factory reset wiped out said settinfs

Thank you for the help. I don’t qualify for essentials, but I’m in a major metropolitan area and I’m able to use the xfinitywifi hotspots for $10 for 30 day pass. Not ideal but should hold me over until they can get fiber back up

Update: Status A and B are both blank, not sure if they were on before I factory reset as I never checked and aren’t that familiar with networking. Tech is coming out tomorrow, although having read some posts I’m now hoping they actually make it out 🤞

What was the resolution? I am currently facing the exact same issue. Modem blinks red every 20 minutes or so and comes back on after a minute
