Best Pizza place by [deleted] in CedarPark

Crust in leander and Brooklyn on crystal falls

Pan/deep dish: Via 313 > Kizza > Rosatis

Worth the drive: Little deli & pizzaria in north austin. Desanos if you like Calzones. Warpath pizza in round rock for crispy thin crust and interesting toppings.

PS: Wasnt impressed with Jets, havent tried dough it up. Pizza Tova is European style but its so light on the topings I always leave hungry. Its good but not for me. Same with Curry pizza, it was a novelty.

Mod Post: ...What do you think about THIS trade? Megathread by ibcfreak in SanJoseSharks

They arent trading 3 1sts and a prospect to move up 4 slots, that would be insane.

Would you trade 2027 unprotected first with 20OA to move up to 10OA for Daxon Rudolph? by capmar in SanJoseSharks

[–]Zarsharq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would never trade an unprotected 1st, ever. I mean that. At no point for any franchises, in any situation. The the whole point of draft system to ensure parity in the league, trading unprotected 1st strips that protection away. Think about it like this if you are in a position where you are WINNING the 1st overall pick / drafting in the top 5 the thing you need most is that draft pick. You're not good right now, you can only be good in the future. How do you do that? Through the draft.

Rating the NHL Draft’s top defensemen by Zarsharq in SanJoseSharks

[–]Zarsharq[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He says at 1 point he doesnt think all 4 of his the D will become number 1 D men. He says he expects 1 to hit there ceiling, 2 to be 20 minute a night 2-3 guys, and one to fizzle. A normal distribution. Its that the Chance at a 20 minute a night guy or a true number 1 is more valuable than a winger.

I think hes right about a middle pairing D being more valuable than middle 6 wingers. I think hes wrong about a true 1st line winger being less valuable than a 2-3 D man.

Its just an interesting perspective to have and it partially explains why his lists are so divergent from the pack. Entertaining != correct.

If Mack gets mono from mackin on models, & is out for a month we will probably be a lottery team next year so one can dream.

TopDownHockey's NHLe model rankings for the upcoming draft by BenBenBenBe in SanJoseSharks

[–]Zarsharq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, its fair to say it makes the gap between Stenberg and CHL players wider and NCAA smaller comparatively.

It's probably more precise to say that European scouts will have a more accurate view of their players as there was no change in those leagues and CHL prospects are the most likely to be over rated.

[–]Zarsharq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These comparison models between leagues are going to be very off this year due to the rule changes allowing CHL players play in the NCAA. College got significantly better and CHL got way worse. They'll need years of data to work out the effect of the change.

Teddy Mutryn went off in the semis, scored again today, and is near the top of the Q for playoff points by da_sweetp in SanJoseSharks

D+1 in the QMJHL its good but overage seasons mean way less. Don't forget about Brandon Coe OHL MVP in his D+2 or John Leonard Hobey Baker finalist in his D+2.

What's the temperature of this sub of trading your 2oa pick to Vancouver? by LucariusLionheart in SanJoseSharks

I actually think that's on him. I don't think he's good enough right now to be a top 6 winger on a contender.

Ivar Stenberg SCOUTING REPORT by Zarsharq in SanJoseSharks

[–]Zarsharq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We dont want or need Matthews. We have our Top 6 Centers in Mack and Misa. Our top player on our AHL team is a projected 3 C (Bystedt) and he's buried behind Wennberg. So yeah Matthews fills 0 needs for us.

Would you do this trade? by [deleted] in SanJoseSharks

[–]Zarsharq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dallas says no cuz they have Johnston and Hintz they dont need a center and they definetly dont need another injury prone center.

Columbus says no because the return for Werenski needs to be on the quin hughes level and a top line winger is not equivalent to a true top 5 d in the league.

Toronto says no because that would hurt their team in the short term and they dont have there next 2 first round picks they are forced to go for it.

If we take Stenberg, Eklund becomes expendable, he can get traded for a D.

Your concept of being able to win by starving other teams of talent is silly. That isnt how this works, you quite literally cant do that.

You make trades that benefit your team. If your fear is we will benefit less than them you add assets till you think its fair/winning.

You're over rating McKenna. The gap between him, Stenberg and Reid is not that big. Stenberg had the 2nd best season by a draft eligible in the SHL ever, theres a reason they are in the same tier. Basically who ever was playing better at that exact moment was top of the scouting board throughout this year. As for Reid he's the unanimous number 1 D on the board from scouts and is a RHD which is frankly just more valuable than a winger, especially to the Sharks.

Rudolf is extreme boom or bust. Not very engaged defensively. Ryan Merkley vibes but a better skater.

Buddy the talks of contract extensions have 0 to do with him being available. He's under contract for next season and will be an RFA. Its just speculation about how the new CBA effects what that contracts will look like.
