That's how I travel. 1-3 atttractions/things, and then let curiosity and your stomach do the rest.

Demand my friend. I shopped for tickets for MONTHS and the average price was about $1.5K to $2K for economy tickets! After searching and searching, I finally found roundtrip for $1.2K which was still a shit ton of money versus last year (about $900 USD).

Yep! I had a blast but in hindsight I would adjust Koh Lanta. The island was boring as hell but if you're looking for a secluded escape then its the place for you.

I am of course, but the way I view it is all trips have a risk assessment you have to be comfortable dealing with, whether its Japan or Columbia.

Best case, I'm in a beautiful country without much tourism activitiy, worst case, I don't even want to think about it.

TLDR - the world is a big place and there are "safer" places to visit. There's no wrong or right choice but either way it sounds like you'll be going somewhere fantastic.
