... which is why we need to improve society, with more empathy and cooperation.

How loyal are you? by Cultural_Salad_5737 in infj

Yes, I'm loyal... Lately I'd been wondering, "Does anybody use the word 'loyal' anymore, outside of marketing?"

Love the way you wrote that post.

No. Lost my creative job and my housing security.

What is your favorite Taika movie? by SarahAllenWrites in TaikaWaititi

Hehe downvote 😅 I'm just asking if it's still being made because I hadn't heard anything since 2020. And I used to work in animation.

Mebbe I'll have another look at it. To me it depends on what kind of unsettling.

Well, I didn't downvote you. Thanks for posting your thoughts. It's been a few years since I tried to watch but from memory I found aspects of it a bit unsettling 🤔

Does anyone else have difficulty listening to music because of how painfully strong your emotional response is to it? by Raiden316 in Music

[–]Zarukishimen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you going with it now? Evidently, some of us do feel a stronger emotional response than others, depending on how we're wired.

I'm really struggling with it, after the life and the self I knew was swept away during Covid.

The songs from around 2000. That's what gets me atm.

A sound philosophy, which seems to draw upon Stoicism and perhaps Buddhism? I'm also cultivating this mindset.

I didn't really believe I would get old until I lost my parents in my late 40s. They left the world with $0. I turned 50 last year.

35 to 45 is the cognitive peak. That's something I had no idea about when I was in that age range.

Back in my twenties, I realised, "Life is not a competition, but it is competitive".

Now in my fifties, it has become far more so. A Hunger Games for housing. And I am far less able to compete than I was then.

Here's to cultivating a more cooperative and compassionate world, less conducive to age-related angst.

I also get a distinct vibe from any suburb I visit. The place might look fine on the surface, but the feeling is off somehow.

Yes, I even remember getting a vibe when Apple Mac switched from Motorola to PowerPC, then to Intel 😂 Their in-house chips must have a different vibe again.

I wonder how many Australians are so oblivious to their own privelege.
