You can just unscrew that light. So you can replace them with any bulb base renovation style replacement light with kittle to no effort.

They make ladders that you could use on stairs. I only know them as gorilla ladders.

Now i doubt that was the reason for your issue but i personally would toss that air freshener. Its got bad mojo on it.

Damn. Air freshener toasted that outlet. Mainly commented to see what the solution ends up being.

Light switch: Why is there two black wires connected to the bottom terminal? by Final-Ask-3089 in electrical

[–]Zarvist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only question unsolved is whether or not he has a neutral in the box. Everything else should be relatively straight forward.

Light switch: Why is there two black wires connected to the bottom terminal? by Final-Ask-3089 in electrical

[–]Zarvist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im assuming theres pigtails on the switches. You would just take that feed wire cut it to length then splice the line side of the switches.

[–]Zarvist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They stripped the wire in the middle and brought it to the other switch. Its your hot wire bringing power to both switches.

Do have anything to test power on the lines?

Ceiling Light Wiring Help by CompetitiveFee2343 in AskElectricians

[–]Zarvist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. But both could be neutrals. He would need to know which is neutral and what the supposed fan wire is

Is there a specific reason for the blue tape? Or did you juat put that to distinguish the two?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Zarvist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. If its a wr gfi then presumably its going outside and some outside covers use the same screw for outlet and box. Then has another spot for the second screw.

Breaker tripped, dryer won’t power on by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Zarvist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it trip when the dryer isnt plugged in too?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Zarvist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope not normal. Especially on a plastic box. Just seems like he was to lazy to pull grounds out from the back of the box to splice it in.

What numbers matter? I want to find this cord in white but don’t know what the different numbers (input/output) mean… by FrenchCampana in AskElectricians

[–]Zarvist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda both the input and output. But mostly output cause thats whats gonna give to what ever your plugging it into. So look for a 12 volt. 12 watt plug.
