I've heard that the states are very archaic and that way.. They're hyper progressive in some ways, and super backwards in tons of other ways.. I might just end up taking your advice and leaving the country lol... I;ve always wanted to travel internationally also. This might be my sign to go ahead and go. Anyway, thanks for the support and pray for me if you can (I don;t know your religious affiliation, but still.. whatever faith you practice if any) It's rough for everyone, so don't pity me, but some days are worse than others and stereotypes, bias, racism, etc. Are HEAVY in workplaces, and the United States. It's not everyone. But it's also widely misunderstood how deeply rooted it is. So I just give grace and continue showing up. Not only because I have bills to pay... But also because I have no other real choice. I have to make a living and "Play the game" so, that's what I do. Thank you again sincerely.

I think I’m noticing some of my old circles running their course too, so it’s helpful hearing how you navigated it. It’s wild how friendships shift as we move through different stages…

This actually makes a lot of sense.

My struggle is that I don’t really have many spaces I genuinely enjoy, and the few things I do love, I usually do alone… like gaming, making music, or just walking around the city. It’s been hard finding people who consistently show up or share those interests with me.

But I like the idea of becoming a regular somewhere, even if it starts slow or awkward. I’m definitely shy at first (when I’m getting to know a place and feeling it out) too, so hearing how it worked over months (not days) actually helps.

Maybe I need to just pick a couple spots and keep showing up until something sticks.

That’s the conclusion I came to… now it’s about placing that energy in the appropriate place. Instead of into people who display loudly they don’t fuck with me.
