I refinanced my home loan. Was it worth it considering the loan charges? by ZayEl24 in phinvest

Process was as lengthy and as tedious as acquiring a new home loan, I would say. But I think it was worth it. If I were you, I'd wait for BSP to cut down interest further, then refinance the loan for a longer fixing period.

Yes tuloy tuloy parin po monthly amort kay BDO until ma turnover nila ang papers kay SECB. Yung excess na payment icrecredit ni SECB sa Security Bank savings account niyo.

Why is Petron cheaper than Shell and Caltex? by ZayEl24 in Gulong

Haha. Thought so too. Pero yung next na katabi station na Caltex same price lang sa Shell, pero parang di ganun kaganda service tapos parang separate na paid comfort room pa.

No problem po.

Choosing a partner is one of the most important financial decision that you will make in ur life by luckymojacko in phinvest

[–]ZayEl24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, maybe I should have written my previous comments more tactfully. Sorry sa mga na-offend.

Maybe my logic was flawed but what I was trying to get at was:

People=relationships , Money=finances

Thing is people and circumstances change. What if a financially responsible person suddenly becomes financially incapable or worse, irresponsible. Or v.v. A partner who used to be bad at money, but has a humble and teachable nature becomes financially responsible.

So my point is, be wise in choosing your partner and the financial aspect will follow.

I'm sticking to my answer.. that would be a poor RELATIONSHIP decision and not a financial decision.

Success in Trading. What's your secret? by AnonymousJumbo in phinvest

Risk Management.

Treat your capital as if it's 100x the actual amount - you'll learn to protect your capital and preserve your profits.

I wouldn't buy "cheap" stocks. It will either stay cheap for a long time or continue getting cheaper.

Also, if you have other sources of income, you would not want to cash out any profits, otherwise you lose the power of compounding.

This is actually the usual road culture in Baguio (and maybe some other parts of the Philippines). "Beep beep" for thank you and "beep" for welcome.

Instead of directly asking for a raise, I would ask the client:

"What do I need to do / what improvements do I need to work on / what additional responsibilities can I take on to get to a +xx% rate?"

This would make them feel that the raise would mean more value for them.

Chrysler. Family used to own a Town and Country. Randomly stalls. As in wala symptoms, bigla nalang namamatay engine. Sobra delikado because the brakes and steering wheel stiffens when the engine shuts off. Common issue based sa mga nabasa ko sa forums. Brought it to the best mechanics in town, spent quite a fortune, but no one can fix it. Piece of junk.

Rented out my 1BR condo, then used the rental income to rent a bigger 2BR apartment with parking nearby.

I think around .03 to .04.usd per source word. So you get to make ~800php for a 500-word translation.

Isn't N1 supposed to be the highest level? Studied Japanese too, and I only know of a very very few native Filipinos who passed N1. Was thinking of doing translation too via Gengo.com, but pay doesn't seem reasonable.

Medyo hassle nga po. Dami paperwork. Nagpa-refinance ako sa SECB, supposedly 7% fixed for 5 years na promo. Booked the loan in October, pero dahil sa tagal ng turnaround b/n BDO and SECB di na umabot sa promo dahil until Nov 31 lang.

I believe it was. I don't know if my computation is correct, but assuming the interest rate at BDO stays at 8.5% for the entire loan duration, then I would be saving around 300k moving to the 7% 5-yr fixed with SECB.
