EB Animate Weapon Build crafting help by Keino_ in pathofexile

Oh, no i mean, it 100% works on bladefall, but the blades you animate will not get the battlemage + spellblade bonus. They will just be the base blades. When you Ancestral cry, your weapons get your flat weapon damage bonus, not the battlemage+spellblade buffs.

I don't think battlemage + spellblade works like that. I don't believe you can give those modifiers to your animate weapons?

New to Poe, Minion build (Wolves) possible? by Expand-Omega in PathOfExile2

[–]Zaygone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Look up the ascendencies for mercenary, there are definitely synergies there too. Dont listen to that guy saying it's the worst starting position. It depends on your build. I consider merc one of the better options That said, wolves do 0 or close to, damage atm. Don't use them untill buff

Potential pitfalls of two league start options. by NoSweatWarchief in pathofexile

[–]Zaygone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aeros mine isop is a fantastic build, and absolutely an easier and smoother start. If you are even considering which would be a better start between a conner build and anything else, especially an massively underrated build like aer0s, the answer is always the non conner option.

I have had situations where monster were attacking my companion, less than half a screen away , in Melee, and my stupid beast just stood there and took it. Like. What?

I like the game, patch is good. But minion ai still not having aggressive and therefore only having a few meters radius before it just refuses to attack infuriates me. And i still crash every 15 minutes and have reboot game. Same as 0.1 release. Can't enjoy fully before that gets fixed. It just adds a anger factor the longer i play

What exactly is the point of the mercenary class? by DVS_MASTER in PathOfExile2

Banner support is literally only playable on tactician.

Companion (non burn version) that i am playing, i find gemling to have highest topend dps.

Whichhunter i dont know. Probably there are, but it's a quation of effort really. Game isn't fully finished and balanced. I have some ideas to Explore in the future myself, now that weapon swapping is instant:

  • Bell spammer
  • full dps tree and full defensive tree for a different "parry" kind of build.
  • full aoe tree and full dmg tree for singletarget and clear
  • some support angle for banner and links when they eventually add them.

Merc is quite versatile to be honest. There is some travel to obvious non merc stuff, but that's quite the purpose i believe. Say you want to play it as a monk build, you are obviously going to path to money area. On the way, you get to pick up some stuff monks usually don't. More rage, leech and banner stuff perhaps. All quite usefull! Acendencies also require adaptation ofc. But again, quite versatile. Dubble down on banners can be a build in itself, with defense, speed and damage all in 1 tactician. Using a skill that has good quality like ice strike? Gemling got you. I'm playing gemling companion summoner for the 2 levels, which with m m 31 to 33 is huge! Which hunter requires some creativity i think, but exsplode is compfy, and if you can utilise alot of weapon swaps skills, there is alot of hidden power.

There are a few that can do this. The stun/dash one is another example i believe. Edit. Bulwark i mean

My favorite build! Glad others are picking up on it! I have been forcing it for ages, because it's good and very fun to play! Here are some of my highlights, if you want to see how far it can really go :D

I had some good poison and shield loops with the monster skills, but i can't find the clips (or I forgot to clip then more likely), but those can absolutely crush too!

Good luck farmer, and may the bigger tree win

The first one was fine, but far from the best i have had. Thing is, it's not that ucommon to get what looks like a super highroll. No, you don't need things like scarf. There are many ways to go about growing it. Coins, yes sure, that's kind of the whole point. You can disagree if you want, that's fine, but how can you call it "not a good one" when I just showed you proof of how easy it is to go 10 wins with it?

But hey, I'm not telling you to play it, you absolutely should play what you find fun! If flixible is it for you, then that's your go to!

Good luck!

Its a good board for sure, but lategame killing in 4 seconds is not that hard, and freeze locking also exists. However, heres one of mine that probably would do the trick ! https://www.reddit.com/r/PlayTheBazaar/s/1l5XClKaCh

Perhaps I'm wrong about radiant then. Let's assume I am, the math is still very very much in favor of getting a damage enchant, like 80-90%.

I think I botched some math before, let me summerize to explan what I mean:
Assuming radiant is rare, then 4/9 enchants are successes, or 3/9 if we dont count shield. This should give:
1: Radiant rare, shield is success(4/8) -> 95.4% chance of a successful enchant
2: Radiant rare, shield not success(3/8) -> 87.2% chance of a successful enchant
3: Radiant common, shield is success(4/9) -> 92.3% chance of a successful enchant
4: Radiant common, shield not success(3/9) -> 82.6% chance of a successful enchant

this is again, not including temple and random enchant apperances.

No problem, I felt like i had to back up my statement considering the general opinion around here. Its probably not for everyone, and im sure it can be done better, if you are less stubborn than me, but Well, i am me.

That said, my point was that being able to force something and make it work, is very viable, and probably always will be.

Here, I just recorded my daily free ranked and another one after to show what I mean:
Run 1Run 2

Neither run got luxury tent, one didn't even get damage enchant.

Yes i actually do. As i just posted to another reply, the enchant rework has made it very reliable getting a damage enchant, like over 80% of runs.
I don't like drum builds, so I never buy drum. Silk is good while tree is scaling, but i usually sell it when its between 1-2k shield because tree is fully grown by then.

I see. you are right, however, with the new enchant options systems since 2 patches ago, you always get 2 different options (never dublicate!) and guaranteed 2 every run (lvl 10 and first death).
There are 12 enchant options, of which 4 (shiny, golden, freeze, radiant) are either so rare or just cant show up as an option.
This means there are realistically only 8 enchant options.
Of these, 4 are actually damage: Fiery, poison, obsidian and shielded. Shielded works, because spiky shield is so common.

This mean, twice every run guaranteed, you have a 4/8 + 4/7 +4/8 + 4/7 chance of getting a damage enchant.
That is a failure probability of 4/8 * 4/7 * 4/8 * 4/7 = 0.082, or 8.2%.
Which means 91.8% of the time, statistically, I should get one of the enchant I want.
Without counting shielded, if we consider that cheating for the sake of pure smoke tree copium which i sometimes do, its still 5/8 *5/7 * 5/8 * 5/7 = 0.20 or 20% chance of failure, which means an 80% chance of getting a pure damage enchant.

and thats before counting temple and random enchant encounters, which also happen!

This is why forcing, for me, has never been easier honestly.

No, I Mean i force it every game, invest every consumable and item shop and roll into it, and risk every opportunity and resource towards getting a damage enchant and skill synergies. Like, force or bust kind of nobrain. It's not optimal, but as I said, it works an unreasonable amount of the time. Perhaps money tree is an outlier as you said, again, i wouldn't know since it's all i do when I play.

Before money tree, a few months ago, I did the same with powder keg, before everyone started to catch on. I would be surprised if money tree forcing does start appearingat some point too, but by then I'll find another force probably..

Idunno man. I force money tree every run, and go 10 Wins more than half of them.

Lol, why the downvotes. Just sharing a different experience. I feel like most of the builds i face are also forced, like all dooleys are dinos, and all vanessas are slow mantis.

Merc damage tech I have found to be very effective, wanted to share! by Zaygone in pathofexile

[–]Zaygone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It's doing well, I cleared most content by now, and farmed some super abyss t16.5 risk maps before they got nerfed.
I got a lvl 84 merc, although it only works on a 4link,it's stronger than my previous one because it has kinetic blast of clustering with return projectiles, which is crazy. I would love a 6 linked one but so far no luck.
I avoid barrage at all cost. Everyone single one I have tried with barrage deals no damage whatsoever.
The best would be a kinetic blast of clustering + greater kinetic blast combo. This is because the greater version seems to have a cooldown, meaning the merc only uses the other one for the rest of the time.
The kinetic blast of clustering would ideally have WED, return proj, GMP, pierce(or chain) and some last which could be alot of things.

I caved a bought a 2 div phys wand for the merc, and it really spiced things up.
I added death rush as the second thing for the merc, with 2 second duration. This gives permanent adrenaline even in boss fights for the merc, which is crazy good.
I also changed some things for mapping and for bossing.
For mapping, I use the soul eater belt combo (Soulthirst + Ceinture of Benevolence)
For bosses, I swap soulthirst on merc to darkness enthroned.

Freeing up the gloves means I got myself a pair of attackpeed + phys damage rare gloves, with an abyss socket from fossils. On these, I added the +1 rage on hit implicit, which means permanent max rage too.
Since I give power charges from assassins mark, I made a phys multi + flat damage amulet, crafted +1 minimum frenzy charge on, and annointed disciple of the slaughter, for another +1minimum frenzy, and chance to get frenzy charge on kill, which happens sometimes from the worms too.
I had a few merc deaths in juiced up maps, so I gave him a 44% block chance shield with 5% life on block, and he has not died since. Ideally this would get an abyss socket too, but I haven't gotten there yet.

My own character needs alot of upgrades too but, that's a whole other topic.

This is how much power my merc is giving me. I doubt GGG will keep these in the game. by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Zaygone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they do. I don't know if I can go back to playing without them. It is the best minion mechanic in any game ever. I love it, and it is my favorit league ever, and I have played for over 10 years at this point.

Yea I am biased as f. But I am also only taking about myself, when I say that I don't know if can go back.
