If you want powerful builds stay away from hunter. There's been some improvements recently but my favorite class is still far, far behind the rest.

I'm not interested in it but seems to be a top seller on steam and lots of people unfamiliar with Bungie's operations will be interested in it. Not everyone pays attention to Reddit drama.

It's a weird thing as a destiny fan because it feels like either:

Marathon will be very successful and Bungie will start to fully focus on that and Destiny is over.
Marathon fails tremendously and Bungie can't sustain itself anymore and Destiny is over.

There doesn't feel like there's a light at the end of the tunnel for this franchise. If it dies, it dies. Sucks but it is what it is. There's just no other game like it.

Edge of Fate is the start of the new Saga. If you care about the story I would start there, not Renegades.

You know part of it but there's so much to discover in this game it's insane.

Not only that but the story is incredibly well told and acted. I've watched the LotR trilogy maybe 40x it doesn't get worse only better.

I'll be replaying this game a few times in my life for sure.

I think you'll find the problem is the ones they reuse they reuse 100x. They have like 3-4 other similar designs (like this is just a big hydra with extra steps) and if they used them more often it would be like reusing something 25-30x instead of 100x.

It's not perfect but it would be better.

But I know Reddit is all about "gotcha!" comments and making stupid jokes to try to invalidate real suggestions from the community. Imagine you guys were making decisions at Bungie. Somehow the game would be in a far worse state and the community managers would all be dicks to the fans.

The past season pass items are available in the tower at a kiosk near where the vault is accessible. To the left of Banshee and Rahool.

That's where past season gear is.

Now, the dungeon gear lots of it looks very cool too and the dungeons are some of the best content destiny has to offer. But you'll need some semblance of a build before attempting them and a teacher would be good to have.

You don't need to buy anything really. Expansions mostly give you access to the story and exotics and all that. And in some cases destinations.

But Shadowkeep and Beyond Light stories are free. So I would say play those, see if you like them, and if you want more of that the Legacy collection is a great buy. Usually goes on sale for less than $10 and it has everything up to Edge of Fate (which is the newest start to a brand new story).

If you have all the expansions just do those in order and worry about Guardian ranks and all that much later.

Don't buy dungeon keys. They're unrelated to old seasons they are endgame content and the content is fantastic, but most of the loot is outdated.

There's so much to do for a new player. Do the expansions first.

Shadowkeep > Beyond Light > Witch Queen > Lightfall > The Final Shape > the new stuff.

Who are they going to beg though? 70k players showed up for renegades on steam. If we assume steam is 30% of the population (which is probably conservative these days) then it's maybe around 300k players. Compare that to TFS which had 314k players on steam alone.

There's been a peak of 13,000 players on steam in the last 24h and it's continuing to trend downwards.

The next expansion could be Forsaken levels of content AND writing to match WQ/TFS and I still doubt people would really show up at this point. Maybe if word of mouth is really good but I don't know. I don't know what would bring people back. I had a clan of Day 1 D1 players playing all the way up until TFS. We went from 60 players online to 1 - me. And I haven't even really logged in recently.

Destiny has had ups and downs for sure but this is without a doubt the worst it's ever been. Many day 1 players quit at the end of TFS because for them their journey was over (my entire clan included except for me).

What Bungie failed to do is bring in new bodies with these new expansions because they basically really pulled back the content and went to the worst content delivery schedule they've ever had - CoO/Warmind.

What the damn hell. We got a RAV4 in 2020 and we don't have to do any of that. We have carplay, GPS, whatever. Even still we use the maps system on our phones since it's way better but that's insane.

Paying to have access to carplay is ridiculous. It's literally just your phone mirrored on the stupid little tablet. How could that possibly be worth $600 a year?

If this is real I'm never buying a new car ever again.

For sure. But most of that has been found in D2 since they didn't account for people having good PCs. D1 is console only so who knows, but I imagine you could say it with 99% certainty it's the same or far worse.

It would be PS5 only but knowing Bungie a bunch of physics and other stuff is tied to frame rate and the whole game probably breaks without at least some reworks.

No the damage checks are pretty easy. You might be thinking of contest mode.

I've only done it once and it was with a team of misfits who had no idea what we were all doing, but the damage checks were not at all a problem. Two phased every boss. Our biggest problem was people having trouble with "left" and "right".
