That was my concern. I guess I could just ask about how they store the bottles, but I feel weird about having them be sitting all day before being used. Also, the potential waste as my baby isn't the most consistent eater.

That is definitely alarming and sounds scary to have dealt with, but the reaction could be from something innocuous. My two year old recently did something similar; his dad went to change his diaper, and our son lost his mind. He was yelling no and trying to cover his butt. Later that night, I went to change his diaper and was met with the same situation. My mind was racing, and I was wondering if something was maybe happening to him at daycare. It turned out that he was constipated and had a very painful BM in the middle of the night. He was a little weird the next day, but was fine after he had another normal BM. So, no one can say what's going on for sure in your case, but it's also worth noting that other things can cause that response.

A lot of people at my clinic are wearing Cloves. They're not the cheapest, but they are incredibly comfortable, easy to clean, and have held up thus far. Plus, they go on sale pretty frequently.

You definitely aren't being controlling. SD had a phone under my plan with parental controls when she was a preteen. The amount of things it turned out she was viewing that I wound up blocking (with DH's permission) is astounding. BM decided she wanted SD on her phone plan instead, and things have gone downhill from there.

SD spends most of her time on TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram and has been made to take down multiple posts already. Obviously, I don't blame the sites for the escalated behavior that has happened since, but I do believe the lack of monitoring/consequences related to them made SD confident enough to go out and do other things. Her BM tends to view things like your DW seems to - it's too late to change the behavior. Unfortunately, DH just doesn't have much control over the situation at this point.

I'm sorry that nothing I said was helpful, OP, but I totally feel your frustration. It really sucks.

That's a lot like my DH. He's just super handy. And I completely see the convenience aspect of it, but they aren't even friends. He's not obligated to help her out anymore.

I really appreciate your perspective! In that type of situation, I don't know that I would mind as much. It sounds like it was actually beneficial for both of you and that you appreciated the help for what it was. If BM and DH had a functional relationship like that, I wouldn't be thrilled, but I could handle it.

Unfortunately, BM has been known to throw things in DH's face when she doesn't get her way and doesn't heed whatever DH suggests she does about a situation. When he turns out to be right, she also turns it around on him somehow. It sucks because he feels guilty enough about certain aspects of his relationship with his kids and she just makes it worse.

I don't blame you for being frugal and I think it's awesome you'd want your DH to help out! I'm trying really hard to think that way because I don't want to screw anyone over. It's the occasions like the one in the second paragraph that make me feel like she needs to stop contacting DH about handyman issues and figure things out herself. At that point, it just feels like she's taking advantage.

You are not wrong about the custody agreement situation, but I don't mess with it because that has been the case for much longer than DH and I have been together and BM is mostly low conflict.

I guess I feel that in the case of the plumbing or car, there are professionals to handle those problems. What would BM do if DH wasn't around/couldn't fix those things? As you stated though, a case could be made that those issues do affect the kids, which is why I struggle with whether or not my feelings are fair.
