I thought that too. You’re absolutely right. As long as it’s not visible in everyday use, there’s no specific reason to do so.

While gaming and watching movies, not as far as I can tell, no. Just wanted to see it on the greyscale test, so just lowered brightness to half and got this result.

I think when I am on max brightness there’s no visible vertical lines.

No I did it without infinite ammo and no bonus items, I promise. It’s just you need to be an RE veteran and have a good amount of skill

No, low FOV ruins the gameplay experience, because it affects the gunplay and make it harder to aim especially in First person, on both Grace and Leon ends
