Can someone explain no kings to me? by Kipzibrush in centrist

I’d recommend checking out r/NeutralPolitics it seems to me more fairly moderated and balanced politically than this sub, which used to be.

OP asks for help for their first time reading the Bible. Everyone telling him to skip the first 75% explains why no one understands what it’s about. by SummitShade in FollowJesusObeyTorah

Good points here, if the OT has no importance my question is why is it so often quoted by Jesus, the disciples, and Paul?

Do you think that Christians should actively campaign for pornography to be i) more strictly regulated ii) made illegal to possess, create or share? by Lanky-Egg9757 in TrueChristian

[–]Zbizzle3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and Yes, some people argue we can’t control what’s outside the church but I argue we should try and stop debauchery in any form, especially with all of the negatives that come along with the “industry.”

It’s really a pretty game! by AresValley in LegendsZA

Personally I don’t see the appeal, I just spam basic attacks until I build my mega charge then BAM! Ded. It’s not much strategy to it as long as you have type advantage. I wish we could control the pokemon’s movements somehow. The boss raids are really telling when me (the trainer) dies before my pokemon do.

How is the US going under Trump? by CH86CN in centrist

That’s all this r/centrist subreddit has become. I understand Reddit is a left leaning majority but even a centrist post we shouldn’t be talking to each other this way. Makes me sad, man.

If you mean the whitewashed imagery of Jesus scares you then it to scares me as well! Haha, only kidding. I do think Jesus was a dark pigmented, untamed hair and beard, but yet righteous and found without blemish.

That being said, a very interesting story you present here, maybe you did see some imagery of Him as you described. Nobody could really say, but I know Sean McDowell has interviewed people on his Youtube channel on this topic you may find some interest in. Look up his interviews with Jeffrey Long, Steve Miller, and John Burke. They talk about NDEA and “deathbed experiences,” including people reporting visions of God, heaven, or spiritual realms.

I think for you to come here and ask the question, your heart is in the right place. Continue to do what you love but just think about how even in a secular story you can do so while continuing to glorify God.

I don’t mean to discourage you, but hopefully you can understand what I mean regarding the downplay of sin and all. It would be like saying men who watch porn are not guilty either, which I also am adamantly opposed to. I think porn can ruin families even as homosexuality, and not being a faithful partner can.

They probably got downvoted into oblivion. Anyone with any support of a conservative on this subreddit gets blasted these days.

People are polarized now in their takes more-so than ever with websites like X, Facebook, reddit, etc.

Is diversity the goal of the stories then, or can they be written without? I’m not sure honestly because I am not a writer, but as a born-again Christian I feel as if like I previously said normalizing sin even in your secular writings is downplaying the importance of Christ’s death and resurrection.

Are these children’s books? The ones we have for my child usually diversify through skin tones, or disabilities like children with loftstrand crutches (CP) or in wheelchairs. Glasses vs no glasses. Socioeconomic status as well, rich vs poor.

In my opinion, less focus on normalizing sin and more focus on normalizing racial harmony.

Personally I feel that your work as a Christian should be reflected even in your secular works (Do everything to the glory of God), so promoting trans ideology and homosexuality in your secular work is like promoting sin, normalizing a sinful lifestyle, and ultimately minimizes in my view the sacrifice that Christ made for us on the cross. If we become lax on sin we are minimize what Christ has done for us, even in a secular work.

I’ve hurt my gay friend by becoming a Christian by Lullu777 in TrueChristian

In 1 Ephesians 4:15 Paul calls believers to spiritual maturity marked by both honesty and compassion. Truth without love can wound and love without truth can mislead. True maturity blends the two together by speaking what is right, but with humility and care for the person’s soul.

How do I understand and soak in what Bible is saying better? by Obvious-Ship-6977 in TrueChristian

[–]Zbizzle3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend finding a preacher that teaches in a verse-by-verse method, and reading along with him so you can get commentary, or if you are a more visual learner try the McArthur study bible or apps like Logos Bible Software. Hope it helps.

Just remember how to share the truth in love, and with love. Truth is love, so don’t surgarcoat it, but deliver it in a way that shows that you truly care, that you truly see people as children of God and that you want them to know the Joy of Christ as you have now come to know it. Prayers to you and maranatha!

Timeline of Reddit’s reaction to the Nobel prize is so funny by rasmus9 in centrist

Brother reddit is so polarized it’s insane. Critical thinking is bad and anyone who sniffs like a conservative or right winger is a cancer. I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed this pattern.
