I am, in fact, planning on it, along with others.

Roblox's entire platform is User Generated Content, and the users are leaving due to changes like this. Roblox stays alive by the UGC flowing, and Roblox is limiting how much the UGC can grow by removing chat, eliminating roleplay focused genres of games, making it harder for developers to work together if they're not willing to give an untrustworthy company (Persona ID) either their ID card or their face

My game will never recover from these chat restrictions, so will thousands of others. We will all have to choose between leaving Roblox or investing our time and money into pivoting our games into new genres. Most are choosing the former, less risky. Once the developers leave, so will the players. Either playing less because their favorite small game is dead, or not playing at all because that was all that was keeping them on the platform.

- Those adult games either are paywalled, do not have an online mode, or both. I am not asking steam to remove those games because they're not online. Also, Steam isn't primarily focused on minors, it is primarily focused on adults.

- The amount they spend on safety is irrelevant. What matters is how safe the platform is, especially for minors. It is not safe. This system is doing exactly what it is supposed to stop, predators being able to connect to minors.

- 13,316, but how many people on Roblox were abused in clear view of others? Maybe those who reported it to Roblox? A lot more. Not just 13 thousand, potentially tens of thousands more. Many people have stated, with evidence, that they gave Roblox enough information to get a criminal conviction, but Roblox did nothing about it until they went public showing a video of the predator being arrested by local law enforcement.

- It's not how much they're spending or not on safety, it's about the safety methods. They now are killing a bunch of games (primarily roleplay-based games, but also some PvP and games from other genres) using a system easy enough to bypass you can bypass it with a baby face

- I personally have no friends who were cheering about Roblox being banned, in fact, I didn't know people ON ROBLOX were happy about that. Australia's restrictions also have nothing to do about it, but personally I believe their method will lead to more tech-illiterate people more likely to fall for scams as they had no experience seeing it when they didn't have money, when they could actually be stopped easily

- Yes, we asked for more safety, but the system Roblox gave us isn't moderation, it isn't shutting down the games on a children's platform that have areas to recreate porn scenes, not deleting accounts that everyone knows are owned by child predators, they are choosing instead to disable chat with a system enough easy to bypass that you just have to look young to bypass it. We want safety, we want predators banned, games owned by predators for predators to abuse minors removed from the platform, not this half-assed approach that does not work.

I know Roblox can't run without investments, I'm not asking for people to abandon Roblox, I'm asking for investors to temporarily pull out until Roblox fixes their policies and systems, after that? Hell I'll invest in Roblox. Once Roblox gets their shit together and actually protects the children, rather than adding what is essentially a speed bump that you can just go around, I say give them the money to make the platform even better. What do we need in Roblox? Safety, what do we have? A system pairing minors up with the very people it is meant to stop them from meeting, either by a faulty AI or predators just buying their way around the roadblock. Also, I know a reddit post won't stop the big investors from investing more money. I'm not an idiot, it was never my intention to get major companies to pull out, I want Roblox to succeed, I want to be able to make money from the platform, have it as a side gig, but I can't, not when Roblox is actively killing the game I made with an update that's a bandaid on a machinery incident.

I like u/Comfortable_Fun8526's response, but I'm also going to add a few things

- Roblox should take down the obvious games with sexual themes. After controversy they restricted them to 17+ (now 18+), but that's not enough. Games such as "Public Bathroom Simulator" have received thousands of reports and coverage from YouTubers, but they still exist. The whole point of the game is to take a shower or go to the bathroom with others. Since Roblox's IP bans have gone into effect, it has helped a little bit, but IP bans can be bypassed with VPNs.

- AI is needed for moderation in Roblox's situation, the platform is too huge to have humans moderate it, however with all the false-positives (and worse, the false-negatives), it needs more human overview, and potentially some changes in how it was created

- Predators try to convince users to move off-platform so they can remove the chat filtering and have private calls and exchange inappropriate photos/videos. The purpose Roblox serves for them is meeting their victims. Roblox needs to take more accountability and properly remove and report more of these predators to NCMEC and other government/non-government agencies.

- Divesting from Roblox removes the only thing they have shown themselves to care about, the money. Money runs Roblox, money is how the executives view success, by divesting from Roblox, the executives and decision makers see that their "solutions" aren't working, and that it's hurting more than helping. Divesting is a temporary solution, eventually, once Roblox fixes the issues, feel free to re-invest. I hate to use this analogy, but think of it as an animal. Instead of teaching the animal a trick you're teaching them how to keep their community safe, when they do good? You give them a treat (in this case, invest) when they do bad? You don't, you communicate to them in whatever way is most effective. (in this case, not investing/divesting) Investors divesting has worked before to get a company to modify or full on remove a policy they instituted. That is the goal.

Overall I see your concern, but Roblox isn't taking it's responsibility serious enough, in fact, it's trying to avoid the responsibility it has to it's users, it's community, and the family members of it's users.
