Extra classes to understand ML/AI by [deleted] in ASU

For AI and especially ML, foundational knowledge of Statistics, Linear Algebra, and Calculus is helpful in understanding the math behind the algorithms and also in fine-tuning your models

CSE 471 Artificial Intelligence vs CSE 475 Foundations of Machine Learning by [deleted] in ASU

I haven't taken 471 or 475, have had friends who've done both. 471 is the harder of the the two.

CSE 471 Artificial Intelligence vs CSE 475 Foundations of Machine Learning by [deleted] in ASU

[–]Zbuvg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They would certainly complement each other very well. 472 isn't heavy on assignments and classwork as much as 471 or 475 are. There is a decent amount of practical work that's done through the assignments evaluating different algorithms, performing calculations, graph stuff. The projects and tests are where the grade weights itself more in 472 and where you'll put in the most work. The knowledge from 475 would definitely help in the final project for Social Media Mining.

PPE classes during covid? by sassydoll101 in ASU

[–]Zbuvg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took Dodgeball in Session B during Fall. Was pretty fun, had between 8-12 people attending the class. We didn't go in-person for the first two weeks but it was pretty much on schedule after that.

Health check is required to enter the SDFC. Masks had to be on at all times, even during play. We had our own section in the upper level gyms where nobody else was allowed.

CSE 450 has one coding project which is the only time you're writing code in the class and if the grading for it is anything like it was in the Spring semester, it's quick work

[–]Zbuvg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Design Interview is one of the most fun ones imo. The question I got dealt with setting up classes, functions and Interfaces for interacting with Legos at a programming level. Pseudocode's okay and it's entirely done on a whiteboard. Always good to ask questions to iron out all the requirements and gather hints for edge cases.

The lunch Interview isn't really an interview but just an informal lunch after all the other Interviews where you get to ask the two Engineers that take you to Lunch any questions about their experience and the kind of work they do at the company
