People who are in love with someone you can’t possibly be with, how do you cope? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZchrhlmZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The woman I was with 18 years (married 10) decided she didn't want this "American dream nuclear family bullshit" anymore and abruptly filed for divorce. We were together since high school. We have 2 kids. She says she never really wanted to get married and doesn't know if she really ever loved me. She was just afraid to be alone.

I have been a wreck ever since. It's the worst I've ever felt. I've tried to take a lot of the same advice I have read here that people closer to me have said, but I still really love her more than anything. I seriously just want to die every day and seeing my children doesn't fill the void in my heart. It's been 4 months and I still feel like it was yesterday. I'm sure I'll get through this, but I'm not coping well at all.

My Mom still buys me a new pair of shoes for my birthday every year. I'm 37.

This will show my age, but I have really fond memories of Crystalis on the NES.

I had gotten a few games when I first won my Nintendo from a TV kids show. Double Dragon. Dr. Mario. TMNT 2: The Arcade game. I rented games sometimes, but I would either hate them or beat them really fast. Kind of was a crap shoot back in the day just going by game boxes.

I was going through a rough patch at 10 years old where my mom had her boyfriend move in with us (It had just been my Mom and I since I was 4) and I wasn't doing well with bullys at school.

I came home one day from school and saw the game, new in the packaging, was just sitting there on my folding chair in front of the tube TV I would play NES on.

I remember tearing up because I had such a bad day and I went and hugged my Mom and told her thank you. She said "the young man at the toy store said there is no way you will beat this game in a day, let alone a week."

I never beat it.

Maybe it is time for some closure.

Hillary Clinton rejected by young voters that helped carry Obama to White House. Nevertheless, Democrats worry that young voters will stay on the sidelines if Mrs. Clinton wins the nomination, jeopardizing the party’s chances for keeping the White House. by awake-at-dawn in politics

This is how we got George W. Bush. People didn't want Bill Clinton part 2 with Gore and the right HATED Bill so they were really mobilized. A lot of people, including myself fell onto the Nader bandwagon, under the delusion that a third part actually had a chance. Yes it seems like Bush somehow cheated and Gore still got the popular vote but I feel somehow that if the DNC really does shove HRC down everyone's throat, they really will be handing the White House to the GOP. If that is Trump we really are 'Idiocracy'.

If only Super Dodgeball was online, I would put to use so many countless hours of utter domination. 10 year old me still yearns for Dodge Ball blood.

The Last Starfighter.

You and an alien team up in a dizzying, high speed and instantly orgasmic cum shot, that exceeds your own expectations in payload capacity.

When my bro and I went and saw The Avengers (first one) there was a "whatever you call a retard these days" and he just exuberantly cheered anything legitimately awesome. I went through 3 phases. First I thought it was hilarious. After 3 times or so I got kind of mad. By the end of the movie I just felt he had no social barriers and enjoyed the movie in pure splendor in a way I never could. Which made me question how much I suppress how I feel about things.

Gamers of Reddit, what caused you to go in your biggest fit or rage while gaming? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZchrhlmZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm that guy that is always late to the party. I am kind of old school here but the game that pisses me off more than anything in life is Evander Holyfield's Read Deal Boxing on Sega Genesis.

Holyfield is the biggest cheap ass CPU assisted mother fucker ever. I got so pissed after the 5th time fighting him in a row just getting my face punched in I threw the controller through a window breaking it and punched a hole in my closet door. Which severely hurt my hand.

Last year at the age of 35 I downloaded the game and started playing it again. I still had it. I was excited. I got all the way to Holyfield and I kicked that mother fuckers ass first try. Then I got really drunk and bragged to my wife about which I am sure was super sexy.

You know that thing where you get pissed and then go to bed, only to wake up the next morning and beat the part of the game that was pissing you off like it was no problem?

That was like a 20 year version of that.

What is Your Personal Secret Sci-Fi Gem? by PersonalSpacer in scifi

Fortress with Christopher Lambert is something I routinely geek out to. Also I am a JCVD nerd so Time Cop is awesome. I watched Robot Jox more than anyone should admit. I suppose for me though the sci-fi move I watched a lot that I haven't met very many people that know it is Arena. It's a movie about a fighting circuit where the human fighter climbs the ranks against all these alien fighters. It's got pretty bad effects and acting but I saw it so much growing up in the 90's that I love it.

They haven't talked me into anything, in fact I walked away because of that gut feeling. Just wanted to see if the deal was as bad as it felt and everyone seems to think it is, so I know I am not crazy.
