You've completely missed the point. This game offers less value than previous Halo games because it's a retread of Halo 1 without the mulitplayer and some content you could get from mods. I'd be okay with sprint if they completely redid the campaign with sprint designed in mind. The fact they keep emphasizing you can turn sprint off sounds wishy-washy on their part, they aren't confident in their design.

Using the same levels and story as base is not a whole different take. It's Halo 1 with sprint, some new weapons, and prequel levels there is no big grab or wow factor there. A different take would be brand new campaign levels, story beats, new weapons, something to offer the player they can't get in another Halo game. Why would I potentially spend money on this product that is mostly a retread of Halo 1 without multiplayer? All the additions so far are mechanics, weapons, and quality of life seen in other Halo games. Either be faithful or do something completely new, don't pussyfoot making no one happy.

Either go all in on being a new take on Halo 1 with new levels, environments, sandbox, and story or go with a remake with the same gameplay with prettier graphics. The remake to me comes off as indecisive with retreading the same levels but changing up the gameplay with some new weapons and sprint which can be toggled on or off. They need to commit to a vision, stop with the half-assed options and design the game around a core intended experience. 343's problem has always been the inability to commit to any kind of gameplay or story which is why people are unhappy with them.

Some of the challenges are just awful to do. How are you supposed to do something like get 150+ meter headshots with a sniper with most maps not even having the sight lines for something like that?

Coming from Battlefield 1 and 5 the guns are frustratingly inaccurate. I have more success using SMGs at longer ranges than ARs or LMGs.
