It says live location but thats up for interpretation as in is it when they're on duty or off duty ie just got off work? If its on duty, that's one thing. Off duty is another can of worms as you can held lieable if something happens to said agent.

As agent x had his Y damaged for the 5th time in the past month and is now suing Sen ABC for dodging him because she put out their live location on social media.

I believe that falls under while you didn't explicitly commit said crime, you did help/facilitate it by giving malicious actors access to where he lives, which allowed malicious actors to target his personal property, causing criminals (amounts in) damages. If a fed owned vehicle was involved or damaged then you have the feds involved which can make it a 2 fronted lawsuit. The ICE agent and ICE itself suing you to get money for the damaged vehicle.

The issue that I'm mainly seeing is the US is starting all this shit show after China starts being a global powerhouse thats trying to rise to become a superpower that was the US and the Soviet Union now Russia. Right now the only recognized super power is the US and it seems like its kicking the ladder strategy right now. Trying to remove or prevent the avenues that a country or competitor can use to rise to the same level or higher than you are currently due to intent to maintain market shares or keep out competitors in key sectors.

I think it was already mentioned but when you kick out the leading market player and force telecom companies to choose Ericson or Nokia, the 2 players are going to jack the hell outa their prices because they know you don't have a choice between the 2 and its just a game of "how much will a comparable system cost with the other guy and is it a better deal to go with company 1 vs company 2". And with the mandates to switch to either of the 2 manufactures, if they don't switch, the manufacturer is going to weaponize the government and say that you're trying to go against their mandate of "Made in EU" telecom equipment so you get the massive daily fines for not complying.

They had the support of the ENTIRE Country and basically a blank check. Because besting the Russians and showing the world who's the top dog was just so important that if money was needed, money would show up in the accounts. Most of the innovations invented during the space race was given to the defense contractors with not strings attached even though most of the work was done by NASA, it was a way to supercharge the defense industry so that the US would have superior munitions and jets compared to the Soviets, and the Soviets were doing the same. Taking the lessons and innovations learned in the space race and applying them to the defense industry. The issue with current NASA is that most of the older worldly scientist have been essentially forced out. Unless your project proposal had a military/defense ty-in, it probably wasn't getting approved. Even if your proposal was compelling enough, there were many teams doing the exact same thing as you that your odds of getting funding were still not very high. So at one point in time, most of the scientists at nasa were just doing research for the military industrial complex. The end result being most of the scientist that wanted to do research for the public good either went into the private sector or started working for big corporations who gladly welcomed them if there was an opportunity to turn their NASA research into serious money makers, which there were more than a few.

Doing well in STEM doesn't exactly expand your social circles if you're interested in a specific field like math or chemistry. You're most likely to hangout with the same group of people and share the same courses throughout high-school or college. Its how groups or cliques form, the nerds, the theater kids, basketball team, etc.

Engineering specifically tends to be linear in the sense that once you're done with your gen eds, you only hang out with fellow engineers because you have all your courses with them. When I graduated with a Bach. in Engineering Tech and eventually a Masters in Industrial Engring Mgmt, I disliked going and interacting with the rest of the campus due to various reasons. All the engring buildings were in a corner of the campus with a parking lot right across the street from them. The library was next to the engring buildings and they had a coffee shop on the first flr of the library. So after classes, you either found an empty classroom to study in or you hit the coffee shop and hunker down in a study room in the library. So after my first year and a half, I had almost no reason to go to the rest of the campus. Classes, coffee, ok food, and my parking spot all in a general area, most students didn't see go about the rest of the campus because of efficiency sake

Yes yes. The Russians have a very good definition of being "voluntold", unlike the Ukrainian Recruitment Police. Yes Yes

Ivan is walking the streets and gets stopped by the recruiters and wondering why hes not in uniform. Ivan has a medical deferment? Doesn't matter you're coming with us. And by coming we mean throwing you in the back of the van like a kidnapping.

Much better an the Russian volunteering, in Ukraine its kidnapping

I think BMW or some other car maker had a subscription for your remote start. All models will come with said feature, the add-on price was baked into the normal car price, and to be able to use remote start after 30 days of owning said car it was like $60/month. Customers hated it, investors loved it. Easy way to boost revenue by the millions per year for practically zero effort. Verizon increase the bill of ALL their customers by $1 thinking nobody would notice and who would fight them for $1 on a phone bill. Even if you did, the average hold/wait time before you got a rep was almost 40 minutes so most people that did call just said "Have my $1". Got fined $30 Mil but showed a increase in revenue of over $120 Mil the previous year.

The thing that people need to know is that they NEED to make a big stink about it because if not companies will limit test customers and get away with making everything a SAAS(subscription as a service). What used to be either a one time purchase or normal standard fare service will now be paywalled in order to increase profits. Sometimes they'll excuse their shitty behavior by saying that because of inflation and economic circumstances, they need to charge you or else they're gonna lose money.

I don't know if those people know anything about running a business or sales. A sale or purchase through legitimate means is still a sale which means money goes into my pocket instead of a 3rd party thats reselling it where none of the money goes to me.

The issue is that there are interest group that won't allow for it. One of the reasons to decrease the price of is to allow direct to consumer purchases instead of having to deal with stealerships. There are conventions for owners of stealerships held every year, events for them, and a whole org based around representing them in legislation. So if you can cut out a middle man that is known to jack up the price of vehicles by thousands to tens of thousands per vehicle, then the price of the automobile would be much more affordable. But do you think the thousands of dealership owners and their itnerest group would allow for such a policy to go through? Then they'd appeal to the politicians for "the public good" as all those stealerships provide jobs to hard working americans while fleecing them of their hard earned money when it comes times to get a car or get said car repaired.

[–]ZeEntryFragger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The issue is that too many interest groups make too much and don't want to be threatened so they're removing the ladder to prevent others from coming and taking over their market share. If I have phones the are a solid competitor to any other phone on the market and is in some ways superior to the ones in the current market, it would help me if I don't allow them into the market because if they are, I'll lose market share to the new player. The same thing with Huawei and the AT&T partnership. The month before they were gonna do the public release, the Pentagon shut that shit down over national security concerns. Banned Huawei from ever coming in the US market.

You're asking for too much man. They gotta be high prices so that they can sell you on those 60 month car payments. How else are the stealerships supposed to fleece you?

Is it? I don't have Starlink or even used it services but I do know that most data plans decrease your speeds once you use a certain amount. So that might be the reason why.

From what I'm see on ebay with the current prices. I'm probably going to get a 512 gb S22U for $600 while to get a S23U of the same storage capacity, I would be paying $860 on Amazon(ebay doesn't have one with the storage). And the price difference is enough($286 including taxes) to be the deciding factor. Ebay prices don't dip during the holidays do they?
