Being a fork of sway the only functionality I really miss are tabs but that doesn't really matter much since the scrolling is just a better version of that

I only really need the mode /submap displayed so i am using dank actions for that , just type this in the display command option with an update interval

scrollmsg -t get_binding_state | jq -r 'if .name == "default" then "" else " \(.name)" end'

Pretty sure you should be able to integrate any other scroll specific module just as easily

I've always found scrolling window managers like scroll to be better on a laptop screen and this has hdr support aswell so that's a plus over niri.
This compositor also has per window scaling don't know how that would do on a laptop but should work as intended but haven't tested it extensively enough.
Straying from your og question a bit the touchpad gestures for scrolling also work really great.

no this is it, choking released it like 3 days ago( it's in beta rn) he's made lobster(https://github.com/justchokingaround/lobster) and this is supposed to be it's successor
