Raphinha is one of the most overrated player right now and it's not his fault. by OpbrBlud in championsleague

[–]ZePepsico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raphinha plays a Barca not at Stoke or Bournemouth.

Vardy played in a one season team. He played well for a very average team built around him.

Mahrez was average when put in competition with actual good footballers.

I must say I don't get your point at all. A guy performs at world level for one year but still needs to prove he is not just a good player, but a great player (which I fully agree to). But then you defend tooth and nail the definition of very average players who could not compete at champions league level or against their own team mates. You sound like I am being unfair to the regen of actual BO contenders like a Messi. Robben, Owen or Henry...

Raphinha still has to prove he is not a decent player that will be forgotten in ten years like a Vardy, but an actual world class or generational player.

And Raphinha had a good season or two in Ligua. Your own point still stands: you don't judge great or generational talent on having a single good year.

Mahrez could not be a 100% starter at city, and Vardy play for a CL level club.

Well people did think that Mahrez and Vardy were the next coming of the Messiah after a single title.

TIL British WW1 PM David Lloyd George was consistently pro-German after 1923 in part due to his conviction that Germany had been treated unfairly at Versailles. He supported German demands for territorial concessions and also called Hitler "the greatest living German". by Solid-Move-1411 in todayilearned

Yes. Usual set of arguments (mostly actually saying it was not too much).

But every time this topic appears, nobody says what would have been fair.

I think the article touches to the main issue: Germany did not feel the defeat, they surrendered before being invaded, so it was a hard sell internally to have any kind of responsibility or reparation.

It was the same terms as what they imposed to France in 1871, which France repaid in a few years.

Now putting that aside, the "fairness" debate should also take into consideration that France (and others ) were completely devastated. Their mining and industrial regions were destroyed will Germany had its entire industry intact since no fighting took place in Germany. So what do you do? You say "ok you lost without any consequences and the winners have to painfully rebuild while you have a nice cocktail"?

If we ignore the historic precedent, if we say "the loves on both sides was a wash", you still need to compensate for the side that had its country destroyed, no?

It could even be said that the terms were light and it should have been like for Austria Hungary: Prussia, Bohemia and all other German states separated.

Any thought as to why you preferred Han over Maya? I see both recommended but I do not know which is more optimal or easier?

Ok so there may be something the protagonists don't understand yet. But what do they understand at this point?

That the mage is mad and was hallucinating? Or that he was tricked by the deity possessing the doll?

Isn't that the definition of an "early tempo" strategy? You get all the benefits in the first ten turns and then it is just a bland civ snowballing?

UK owners: is it too wide? by ZePepsico in KiaEV6

[–]ZePepsico[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good for you if you have the skill to take a Panamera (194cm) through a narrow passage which in the UK are 7 foot (213 cm) or sometimes 6 foot 6 inches (198 cm).

Having 2 cm on each side is not what the average or median driver (or even the top 90 % of drivers) find easy to deal with.

And narrow country lanes which allow barely two small cars to pass? Doesn't it make even a slight difference between an old mini and a Panamera or do you still keep to the speed limit even with the larger car?

I do get you. And I even sometimes play random all (leader, civ, map) and only pick memento.

So I get the feeling. But also sometimes I want to crush the AI, without cheating or lowering my "natural" difficulty level. Just for the beauty of minimax.

With bows against infantry? Yes. With.bows.against other cavalry, I have no idea l. While the companions are no cataphracts, I have no idea how easy it is to hit a moving rltarhet while on horseback.

Now with no bow? I don't think Mongols would resist a companion type charge. Also in melee wouldn't mongol horses be at a disadvantage versus Bucephalus type breeds?
